alright. i'm tired of looking at this thing. the car currently doesn't run, but it has all the parts to put it back together. i'm just tired of looking at it sitting in my driveway. i never have the time to work on it, so it might as well go to someone who does. whoever decides to buy it would need a way to tow it out of here. other than the fact that it needs to be put back together, there's nothing wrong with the car... in fact, it's in great shape. i'd like to get $1100 for it. let me know if you're interested.
Sounds like you're not getting very good mileage... I know gas is sky high, but last month I filled up in Winchester VA and drove to Alliance OH... Next day went to the "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" in Cleveland, then back to Alliance to fill up, 408mi total... Got a hair over 26mpg, cost to fill up was $60.00 @ 3.679...
good god! i wish gas was that cheap here. on average, i pay about $4.15 per gallon. granted that's premium, but still. i got around to checking the mileage that my car gets a few weeks ago, and was very pleased to see that i get 31mpg. not too shabby for a 21 year old 3600lb boat with 120,000 miles on it.
i started noticing a lot of smoke out the exhaust on my car the other day. i noticed that it was coming at wot acceleration and hard deceleration. when i got home, i did a compression check on it. the numbers and symptoms are indicative of bad rings. oh well... might as well freshen up the whole bottom end while i'm in there. i've decided to continue driving the car for a couple more weeks while i finish up on the ranger... so i still have something to drive every day. it sure is a good thing i've done this about eleventybillion times already, so i know what i'm doing.:hick:
i took my brother in law to his ex girlfriends house the other day to pick up some of his stuff. low and behold, as we're pulling down the street, i see a VERY clean 87-88 turbocoupe. you just know i had to go over and snap a quick picture. this car is beautiful. it's got just a bit of clear coat fading off the hood, but other than that, it's in great shape. it's a 5 speed with all the options save for leather. great looking car. maybe when i get my stimulus check, i'll go over and make an offer on it..... yeah right... my wife would kill me! i've already got 2 turbo fords and several spare engines in the garage. lol.
the car is located in independence missouri. anyone on here own it?
that's a GREAT looking car to start your project with!!! i'm one of the ones that is very pro 2.3turbo. however, like many have said, it's your car and you're entitled to do with it as you wish. have fun!
i've never gotten them with any of my thunderbirds, but i do have the original set for the ranger... and i've actually had to use them a few times. lol.
