Today after work I went over to my buddys house. We made trip to his parents to pick up some tools from his dad. Well when we pulled up his parents next door neighbor was there outside talking to his mother. She perked up when she seen my car. My 84 turbo coupe that is. She told me her bother had a t-bird that smae color and asked what year it was I told her 84' then she said her borthers was a turbo somthing with a 4 cyclinder in it. So I told her that is what my car is. She asked where I got the car. I told her my buddy here. Then he told her where he got it. Turns out that was her Nephew that my buddy bought the car from. Then the lady called her brother and tlod him about the car then he wanted to talk to me. Told me that I better take care of his "BABY". I told him about all the work that I 've put into it. He sounded happy and told me that he can rest better knowing I have the car and that I'm taking car of it. Then he told me that I'm lucky to have go the car. I guess his son had the car and had something happen with his arm and he couldn't drive a stick anymore. So this guys dad made the kids sell it. I guess the dad was pissed at his dad for making him sell it. He even had the vin number and knew the car was in this area just didn't know who, or where. Now as it turns out I'm the 4th owner of my bird . The dad,the son, my buddy , now ME. How about that for some messed up stuff to find out about your car.
I sand and sand all day. I know this will make my cougar and bird look good one day. Sanding Sanding Sanding it is no fun. But I know everyone will love it when I'm done. Yes you aren't the only one. Get your ass up and get it done!
LOL Gotta do somthing to keep myself motivated. The sanding has to be the worst part of any body work. I need the Big Red Easy button for body work. You know just like in the staples comercials. When somebody invents that let me know! LOL!.
It is time that I got rid of some stuff before it gets hauled off to the yard. So I basically have a complete 88 Cougar GS or somthing like that. It is red with red interior. I talked with someone on here before that wanted all the door locks and stuff If you still want them let me I'll make you a killer deal. Vinnie I haven't looked for those door handle cups yet.

Both door panels. Front door armrest. Dash trim panels in wood grain complete with the whole ashtray. Rear center console ashtray, rear light switch panel. The consolette one. The rear pillar interior lights.
Nice parts still on the car.
Roller headlight switch. with mounting panel. Base digital speedo cluster. The speedo light is burned out. Heater control panel with the Rear defrost switch. Good seats with the moveable headrest. They move forward and back beisdes up and down. It also has a good 3.8l motor that has the EFI not the CFI. It has a good tranny A4LD. The linkage got bent up in the accident but the tranny still works fine. I have a decent set of center caps for the gray 4 spoked wheels. If there is anything you are looking of that isn't listed just ask I have the whole car. I will be giving great deals just to sell the parts before the junkyard man comes and picks it up any time now.
I was just looking through this section and I noticed I don't really have any pics of my 84 T/c up on this site. Some of you all may have seen these before but it is what I've got at the moment.
Thought I would post up some pics of the work I've been doing. This is to make this 94 Cougar my daily driver and Take the 84 Turbo coupe off the road to paint and make it the beauty she deserves to be. So here we go. The first pics is from the day I went and looked at the car. The 2nd is a pic of the car at home after I went and got the body parts I needed. The 3rd pic is of the header panel with the lights and grill on it. I know that is a 93' grill but it will have to work untill I get the right one.
1st off this isn't for my car. This is for a guy I work with. He has a 93 stang LX 5.0 It a nice car but lately his temp gauge is acting up. Everytime he turns on his headlights his temp gauge goes up about 1/8"-1/4". He has changed the sender, but it is still happening. So does anyone have any Ideas what might be the problem. Thanks
I bought a 94 cougar. I got it on Mon Feb 18, 2007. It only cost me $200.00. It has been in a wreck and needs some work to make it legal. The front driver side corner took most of the damage. The guy I bought it from bought it for the A/c compressor but only took the clutch off it. I bought a clutch and took the hood off and filled it up with water and put the upper hose back on. I drove it home 15miles runs great. It has a V8 4.6L Sohc. The guy I bought it from had the front fender off and I can see new ball joints and struts. According to the window sticker it is 300 some miles from needing an oil change, also changed the oil and air filter the old air filter looked brand new. This is gonna be the new daliy driver while I piant and finsh up making my 84 Turbo coupe the Show stopper she deserves to be. So far I've only invested $400.00 total I have all the parts and just need to do the labor. I have a mig so welding in a new rad support is no big deal. Here are some preview pics
I just bought a 94 cougar. It needs a new Ignition lock. No problem right. But then I noticed that unlike my fox's the door and the ignition are the same key. That means I'll have 3 keys to the car. I know some of the newer fox's are this way with the door key thing. So my question is what can we do to get back to the 2 keys? I did a search but didn't find anything. I know I read about this on here before. I did call a locksmith and he said $30. WTF? Last time I had some keys made for my 84 T.c. It cost $12 with nothing but a door lock to go by.
I'm going to pick up a 94 cougar tomorrow. I need to install the A/c clutch to be able to drive it. I can't find any info about this in my Chilton manual. It did come with some instuctions. They are very hard to understand. So if any of you have experence with how to install these or have any info that tells how let me know so I can get this figured out.
I need some cougar parts So far just lookin. But I would need: Hood, Lh fender, header panel, all front lights, maybe radiator support. If you have any of these at a cheap price let me know.
I'm going to go and look at a 95 cougar 4.6 car. Any things I should look out for? I know the owner said it needs a grill, fender, hood. I got the info from the guy himself while I was at work. The car is a steal of a deal. He did say it starts and runs good just needs body work. I won't tell you how much but I will tell you it is under $500.00 Sometimes working at a parts store has its advantages. LOL
Last night I was watching the history channel. The show was called the secrets of Fort Knox. They started talking about the Urban combat simulator. They could simulate urban warfare with perfect detail. Then there is was on the screen and on fire. Damm that is a 87-88 T-bird looks to be the two tone blue paint. The body didn't look bad but the see the car there flaming I was just thinking damm would have been nice to save that one. Anyhow if you can check out the Fort Know show and learn some really neat stuff about our nations gold reserve and how they protect it.
