Car ran fine, no issues at all. No engine fault codes.
Only thing I did was put the Mustang stock headers and offroad H pipe and lers on.
I put new o2 sensors in (NTK) with longer wires to reach my stock harness.
It now has a rough hunting idle, only when engine warms up.
Ive bumped up the base idle and brought the TPS down to .98, it was at 1.08 after increasing the idle speed.
I put new Motorcraft plugs and Ford racing wires.
Base fuel pressure is 45psi, no fuel spitting from the fuel pressure regulator.
Ive cleaned the EGR and IAC, were already clean.
Vacuum holds steady at 21 inches.
I got a code 91R, only fault code. Is it likely to get a bad O2 sensor out of the box? Could an exhaust leak at the header/Hpipe junction on the other side possible to cause that? The car smells fairly rich.
Ive unplugged that sides o2 sensor and it seems to resolve most of the issue. What is the deal with this????????????
Got some more work done last weekend. Took off the old manifolds and factory catted exhaust and lers/tailpipes. I am going to weigh everthing I removed, so I have an idea.
Installed some Stang factory headers I had lying around (free), OR Hpipe I got for $50 new and (free) factory lers from my brothers 15k mile 94 Cobra.
Now that ive got my front end done, Im gonna focus on the rear. Im looking for about 1-1.25" drop. My plan is to use the stock springs from a 95 convertible. It shows they are cargo coil 827, on the MOOG site. Will those hit it about what I want? :hick:
I am needing some new o2 sensors with the longer pigtail to reach the Hpipe. Is there a 3 wire one that fits? If not, how feasable is it to swap in a 4 wire longer one- ive found plenty of them. I dont want to solder:beatyoass:
First off the search function either sucks or I cant use it correctly!
It seems where I want to bolt the dead pedal to the sheetmetal, there is the bracket for the push plug for the trim piece. I cant seem to fit it closer to the firewall, there is not enough room for it. What the hell have you guys done? It just bolted right in on the Mustangs.
Got a new 15.1 rack and PS pump installed with new tie rods. Getting ready to put on my 87+ spindles and brakes. I noticed my passenger side coil spring was broken at the bottom, about a half a coil. I am going to cut about 1/4 more off to make it 3/4 then cut the other to match. Will that drop about 1" -1.5"? I dont want more than that.
I also got a set of 4 Tokico HP's coming. Looking foreward to driving it.
Have you guys all need the brake line adapters on the fronts and if so where did you find them? My car is a 88 Cougar.
Had some fairly nasty hail last night. About ping pong ball size and very hard. Dented the Silverado and Suburban pretty badly. Broke the windshield in her SUV. We'll see what the house looks like today.
