T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Fresh E7's

Off of a 93 Mustang GT, my best friend got himself a steal on some GT40's so he's trying to sell these.  They had 100k on them before he took them off last winter, he got bored and sent them off to get tanked and magnafluxed then rebuilt them with fresh guides, seals and a 3 angle valve job.  You can bolt these on and go, they are in better than new operating condition. Pics are from before rebuild.

Cam just needs to be cleaned up a bit no major nics or damage, actually I only found one small nic on the center cam bearing area.  Nothing a good polish wouldn't cure.  Cam had about 90k on it when removed to make room for an E303.  $30 shipped.

Heads are off of same car just with about 5k more miles on them.  Look to be in pretty good shape but I have not seen them since they were removed from the car.  $80 plus shipping

Engine Tech / Bad surge
When I launch hard or if I take a corner a little too fast without a  near full tank of gas the car surges something fierce.  the launches especially it'll go good for a second then its like i take my foot off the throttle, then it comes back on again, then dies out again.  I have gotten it to surge like that about 4-5 times once.  i'm thinking its a fuel issue because when the tank is full it works fine.  Any ideas??

Drivetrain Tech / Mark VII axle will it fit?
I know a guy who parted out a Mark VII and he still has the rear axle and front brakes/spindles lying around.  I could'nt find much info on the mark's axles bolt patters etc.  Would this stuff fit?  Is it an upgrade?  Where could I find some wheels for it?

Now that I have new Blue Max emblems to replace the one that fell off thought I'd share.  They look almost new.

PS I know my car needs a bath but its 40 degrees out today and all the roads are covered with water.

Drivetrain Tech / Torque Converters
I didn't get everything nailed down yet but it looks like I am getting a built AOD for $400 and an 8.8 axle with 3.55s and trac lock. If I get both, or just the trans, what should I go with for a converter? What would be a good choice for after I get my HO conversion done?

Drivetrain Tech / New Transmission
Mine quit working on me in a pretty tight spot so I had to scramble to get it running again but it works.  I do have some questions tho.  I have a bunch of numbers from both transmissions that I don't understand so I was hoping someone here could help.
The new trans had a 53 at the top of the "bell", the tailshaft housing had RF-EOAO-7AO4O-BD cast into it.  There was also a tag that read PKA DV1 117248 F25 F1SPAA attached to the tailshaft housing.
The old one had 59 on the bell, same number cast into the tailshaft housing, but the tag read PKA DR2 047987 E1O E8SP AB.  Some O and 0's could be mixed up no way to tell which is which.  The new tranny came out of a 91 cougar with a 3.8 I reused my speed sensor and my converter, I also had to swap over some of the linkages but the main one was fine thanks to my hammer shifter.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / WTB bumper cover
i need a rear bumper cover for my 88 cougar someone rearended me yesterday.  Just got a $700 estimate, but they can't find the part.  Thank god I dont have to pay for it.  I'll get some pics up later.

Drivetrain Tech / T-5 swap or new AOD
Unless the TV cable is broken, its too  cold to crawl under and check right now, I need a tranny.  So I thought maybe swapping in a T-5 would be worth it I have wanted to do it since I bought the couger.  So I thought I'd break down a parts list and you guys can help me fill in the blanks and maybe talk me through it, if you have nothing better to do of course.

3. Flywheel  $350-400 for aluminum $50-100 factory new

Drivetrain Tech / No Overdrive
I have lost overdrive, it'll shift but if i touch the throttle the RPM just go up and the car stays at the speed its going.  I was thinking about a lightly built one from B&M or accurate.  I kinda want a manual valve body to go with my hammer shifter.  Anyone got some good recommendations?

Ok guys so I had a miss problem

Thought I had it licked, then today on my way home from work some wierd things happened.  First the car was missing like before, at least it feels like a miss acceleration is choppy and at idle it sure seems like one cylinder isnt doing its part.  So I drive on pissed off and then a few blocks later it starts running fine:hick:.  So i do a quick sweep of my guages and my temp gauge is pegged out well over 240.  Its 3 degrees below zero and the car had been running for 3 minutes tops no way it got that hot that fast so I figure I have a bubble in my coolant no biggie my buddy said he bled the coolant after we got my water pump leak fixed well maybe he didnt whatever.  So I get home and take off the rad cap no pressure release or hot coolant.  The radiator is full but the coolant is not hot at all.  Maybe my t-stat is messed up but I replaced it when I did the head swap, so I'm not ready to pull the trigger on that one.

Engine Tech / Phantom miss
So I finished my head swap and the car was running fine then today out of the blue I have a horrible miss.  Acceleration is choppy it seems to get a little better at higher RPM but I only drove it a little today.  Ran a test light over the wires, and pulled the plugs nothing noticable.  The plugs and cap and rotor are like two weeks old the wires only a year or so.  Any ideas?  How should I test to find the problem?

Lounge / Worth It?
I have been into the local junkyard's collector lot quite a few times to pull parts off an 88 XR7 he has out there and every time I walk through the gate there is this red 87-88 Turbocoupe sitting there.  So yesterday I called the owner up and asked a few questions, i.e. how much, does it run, do you have the title?  He wants $1200 for it I'm sure if I had a little less he'd sell it, the main question I have is should I?  The original idea was to buy it take the rear axle and trans out for my cougar, and sell the rest on ebay and sites like this one.  But if it runs and I can title it maybe I should save it!?  It would need to be stripped and painted, I can't stand red cars especially ones with red interiors like this one, and I haven't gotten a real good look at it yet for rust etc., but I'm stuck I really wanted to get a 98 Mark but if I can get a running TC, provided its in savable shape, I'm seriously considering saving this car.
