Phantom miss

So I finished my head swap and the car was running fine then today out of the blue I have a horrible miss.  Acceleration is choppy it seems to get a little better at higher RPM but I only drove it a little today.  Ran a test light over the wires, and pulled the plugs nothing noticable.  The plugs and cap and rotor are like two weeks old the wires only a year or so.  Any ideas?  How should I test to find the problem?

Maybe this is no help to you sir but im only tring to make a point.  I see your question and its pretty easy to understand. Its not the queston that bothers me,, its the information i dont have.

I personally dont wanna have to troll through the cardomain site to try and figure out what you have done to your ride.

That being said and your profile has no details other than a 5.0 mentioned,, im not really sure "how" to help.

Some ppl edit their sig with a brief run down on what done to the motor, suspension ect ect.

You mention that you did a head swap.  I dont want to have to research the board and troll through all your topics to try and piece this together although im pretty sure you have it in here somewhere.  Your just making it a little hard on anyone who wants to help.  I always have some form of opinion to help if i think i can but im a little afraid to help without knowing some details.

With little or no inforation on the details of "your head swap", my first suggeston is this.

1
Perform a compression test on all 8 cylinders with a cold motor
Repeat test with a warm motor and post the results

2
recheck vac lines as well as egr actuation to make sure the diaphram isnt busted.

3
i could drift on and on but Pull your codes if you can

Thank but I uhhh figured it out.  If anyone needed confirmation that I am a colossal retard here it is.  The plugs weren't gapped.  I'm so used to the shelf plugs being pre gapped that I failed to realize that I bought performance plug and different levels of performance require different plug gaps.  Man I'm dumb sometimes.

your not a retard

also,
the younger ppl are the  more i hear more often that they "think" plugs come pre gapped.  No plug will come gapped to your cars specs.

Like mentioned on another thread, your ford plug might fit a toyota, giha or a chevy.  gap plugs always on your own.

Some of the higher end plugs cannot be gapped if you do you will ruin them.  So they have to be pre gapped, some of them anyway.  For the record I know I'm not retarded but I act like one sometimes, drives the girls crazy :D

I usually do mine at .046. I just make sure that they ALL have the same gap otherwise it runs funny :hick:
