the mark vii spindles that I will be using has a larger hole for the balljoint stud and mark vii ball joints have a larger body then the cougar balljoints. The good news, SVO balljoints are a direct fit. The bad news, they were discontinued like 10 years ago. Now the better news,  There are some places that you can get a coller to slide over the stock balljoints to make them fit the mark vii spindles. They are about $40.00 and they are called SVO balljoint adapter.

Well I'm half done with my 5 lug conversion.
I ran into a few SNAFU's

First, My SVO balljoint adapters didn't show up (They must have used pony express)

Second, The Mark VII brakes don't fit onto the Mustang axle.
I had to keep the 95 mustang rear disk brakes and the Mark VII front disk brakes.

The reason the Mark VII brakes don't fit onto the rear is because the axle housing is closer to the axle (The rotor hits the caliper bracket).

hopefully I get this all together during the week so that I can change the motor, trans and exhaust next weekend.

Misc Tech / Another...A/C question......
If you are running R134A you should turn the pressure switch cutout to 22psi, the default is 35psi for R12. An easy way is to just buy a pressure switch for a 1997 crown Vic. It's allready set to the right cut out, has the same plug and is less then $30.00.

Misc Tech / emission test results
do they still do the idle test in Jersey? I thought they only did the 2500RPM test to pass the emisions.

Electrical Tech / Digital speedo 199mph mod.
I've done it to three of my cars including my current one and now I can do it in 15 minutes flat. 1 tip is to replace all of the bulbs wile you have it out. Don't bother with the halogen bulbs, just replace them with regular 194's.

The spedo mod doesn't work on the MN12 cars. for that car
i replaced the cluster with all buttstuffog gages and a 140MPH speedo.

Drivetrain Tech / 2800 stall converter?
I have a FRP 3000 stall in my MN12 and it's fine on the street. My car weighs 3,840.

Just make sure you run a real good trans cooler, especially if you are getting rid of the direct drive.

Hello all
I own quite a few vehicles and have quit a few projects.
My most current one is a FOX body cougar that I will be doing a few things to.
Im installing a 8.8 Diferential from a 95 mustang GT with 3.08 gears
and using LSC backingplates, rotors, calipers and brake cables.
Im installing LSC front spindles with SVO balljoint adapters and using LSC rotors and calipers along with 4 LSC BBS rims.

I'm swaping out the EEC for a A9P and installing a low milage 5.0HO with GT40 heads and intake with 1.7 ratio roller rockers. I'm also swaping in a rebuilt AOD out of a 93 Thunderbird with a trans-go shift kit.
For exhaust I,m using stock mustang tubular manifolds with true duel 2.5 inch pipe through magnaflow cats and flowmaster lers.

best of all this is my daily beater car.
