Hi guys, Im looking for the RED door pulls for the interior of my car (86 tbird), the little red plastic pieces that go over the door pull, the black plastic triangles that go over the side view mirror mounting studs, an AC compressor, and a few cans of R12.
So did you buy mustang sway bar links? Then find out theyre too short? Cuz thats what I did, then I couldnt get the nut to engage enough of the threads. Then I compare the two bolts. And ofcourse the tbird bolts were a breeze
WOT is "wideopen throttle".... not to be confused with "bwahhhh!" which is the sound your car makes at wide open
And yeah, I was looking to save a few horses, shed weight, eliminate a load on the engine blah blah blah. But also, If i go to aftermarket headers/midpipe they prob wouldnt have "ports" for the smog pump to blow air into, right?
okay, so pretty much everything connected to the smog pump can be removed? Theres also a small black box on the passenger side in the engine bay. I think its a carbon canister of a sort. Do I need that? And as it is, my EGR valve has its vacuum plugged. So my EGR is "off" for lack of a better word.
Hi all, I assume someone has done a smog delete on an EFI 5.0 here. I have a dummy pulley to put in place of the thermactor (air pump). But what else can I take off?
regarding the rear brakes, see i was gonna try to swap out the rear end. Cuz right now I have a 2.73. I think. So I wanted to find a turbo coupe rear, because they have disc brakes and 3.73 gears...which means more accleration :)
I know Im a little late here, but mine did the same thing. The gas pump shut off at 17gallons. I have a 21gallon tank. I tried filling it up again. Nothing. about a week later, filled up at a different station, never happened again. weird.
And regarding your instrument cluster, my dads friend worked a ford dealership and he said the clusters go bad every now and then. Mine had a issue where the speedo didnt show anything. Just blank. Didnt even read 0mph. Blank. Needless to say, I got a new cluster. No problems since.
And important side note, if you have a full digital cluster, your odometer reading is stored IN the cluster so if you swap clusters, your odo is way off. And you have to do maths to calc your actual mileage. Oh, and I know the digital odometers roll over at 200K miles....the go from 199,999.9 Miles to 100,000.0 miles
Hi, Ive seen in a few places where people have "unlocked" speedos. So I'm curious, how do you do this? I have an 86 5.0 thunderbird with the full digital instrument cluster.
Hi guys, Ive got an 86 5.0 Thunderbird. Im looking into upgrading the front brakes. Ive gone to AmericanMuscle.com since they have lots of aftermarket fox stuff. And they have a set of slotted rotors and performance pads.
Basically, American Muscle says they'll fit 87-93 mustangs. Would these fit on my thunderbird? I know lots of things carry over from the mustang to the thunderbird. Any info is appreciated.
