5.8 Fastcat #2 Winter Work Reply #150 – February 13, 2007, 10:29:54 PM its not a flat tappet, its a hydro cam, im pretty sure, its more on the radical side. the heads were just something my dad did to open it up more. only really stock parts are the block, heads, pistons, rods, and crank. everything else has been replaced, looks like im putting performance mods in it before it gets on the road then, i got chevy ass to kick Quote Selected
5.8 Fastcat #2 Winter Work Reply #151 – February 13, 2007, 11:02:12 PM Hydraulic flat-tappet. It doesn't have roller lifters, so it's not a roller cam. That also limits the amount of duration and lift it can possibly have, and the "aggresiveness" of the ramps. Post up all the parts and all the specs in a NEW thread and I can help you out. 5.8 Fastcat #2 Winter Work Reply #153 – February 14, 2007, 02:35:33 PM I call the math people use on figuring there HP to be "Summit Math" This intake is 20 hp,the cam is 15hp the air filter is 10 hp . I had 225 to start off with so now I have 270 hp. Not the case. I've had 347 with good heads, cam and intake with a stick behind them only make 310-340 Rear wheel HP. # can be misleading. Don't get hung up on a # some combo just work better than other. Quote Selected
