I have worked long and hard. THe old cougar I've had for 10years.
When I bought it there was 179K miles on it.
I have built my my a new house while my old car set idel for 2 years.
Then  I built the motor that is pic and installed it in the old (Black) cougar.
So now I have the time and ablity to build the new car.
I have done all the work myself  expect for the; airbrush work, trans rebuild, and the rollbar.
That helps to keep the cost lower(not cheap) just lower.
I'm 40 years old with 2 kids and it not easy. My oldest son loves to help on thecar and my wife loves cars also. THat helps a bunch.
  THanks for the kind words.

I'll be 40 this June,I know where you're coming from.I just keep pecking away until I get it where I want it.One piece at a time.I should have my heads and valvebody soon. That'l be two steps closer.Roll bar?i won't need one of those (now watch,I'll flip my car tomorrow and eat those words,LOL).One really doesn't have to spend a lot to accomplish a lot.It just takes patience,a LOT of planning, and the desire to do good work.I have a notebook that has 3 column in it.One,my "Wants/Needs" list.Second,my "What I need to do" list.Third,my "What I already have" list.It helps me blueprint what I'm doing and keep track of the "plan" I have for my car.I see a lot of people building their car and just throwing things on for a temporary fix when for just a few dollars more, they could've done the job right and been done with it.No planning.Anyway, enough of all that,Again, you're doing a great job, keep it up.

Greg,
That is one wild and crazy car your building. Kinda puts mine to shame. Yes, doing things yourself really helps lower the cost. It also helps when you find really good deals on parts/ family support and have the ability-desire to do things yourself. I like your color combo :D  I too have the "3 list" thing going on, wife continually wants to know what I have to do to get the car put together and "How much is it all going to COST?" sheeze, gimme a break ;D
Looking forward to seing your beast completed.

Would you happen to have plans for your rotissiery ????? I can get whatever steel I need from where I work

1BadBird; I can send some pic of the rotisser, I modified it to work on the cougar.  Eastwood  sells them you can see pic of theirs.

1Wld Bird;  Quick run down of the power plant; Here goes  had a 383CI windsor with a single 70 turbo @ 678 RWHP the stock block split,
Buy a World Product "Man-O-War block. Made it 4.125 over bore, which make the engine a 400 CI engine. The extra CI was spinnning the gutts out of the single turbo. With no room to add a larger framed turbo the only thing that made since wast just to add another 1.

Below is some pic of the turbo's
