some might disagree with me but i finally did on my 88 turbo coupe.use a master cly off a crown vic with a check valve on it.make sure that the rear line out of the master goes to the rear brakes and the front lines to the front brakes.and it had a adj prop valve on it but i doesn't need one if you have the check valve on your master cly.it took me four months to finally figure this out.but my brakes work just fine now.
Ford racing oilpan $130 bbk headers $230 from summit get motor mounts from chuck a c6 has clearance issues i put a 351 in a 88 tc not easy or cheap but its fast.go to cool cats .com eric was alot of help
Come on chuck is my hero. With his mounts i have clearance between the headers and steering column.and the oil pan has pleanty of room between the stablizer bar. Everybody likes how the sits in the car. 351 in a 88 tbird.well worth the money.
Check the lever at the trans to make sure that its returning all the way.i had to put a spring on the lever or my trans does the same thing.second get a locar cable they are more adjustable i like mine.summit has them
Ok i just printed up the shifter swap diagram from eric i will take it with me to ford.is it the bracket i need.but what about the shifter lever and kickdown lever.when i rotated the shifter lever they hit .or will this bracket let the shifter lever go back up top in its original position for clearance issues
Ok please help me i put the aod out of my 83 tbird into my 88 tc where can i get the parts to make it work the 83 was column shift.and i know that the 83 pulled and the tc pushes the shifter lever. A guy told me that ford might still have what i need to make it right.i will check them out tommorrow.until then i am getting fustrated.and the junk yards are bare because when s was up they sed everything
I got the same problem i got my 351 and aod in my 88 t c i took it out of my 83 tbird.i thought i saved everything off the old trans. But i don't have a bracket for the shifter lever the 83 was column shift.but what do i have to do to make the floor shifter work on the aod.
Take some advice from a old guy. I had a ler shop make my duals for my 83. They made it up and its been on the car for 6 years.its much easyer.get stainless if you got the money.
I just sed a 2.3 noboby wanted it at the time. Now i had trhee people saying that they would buy parts. I let them know before hand and i avertised it.
Chuck tell me more about your motor mounts i got the motor out off the 88 today i put the 83 next to it the motor is still in it i am going to start pulling it out soon do you make them yourself and what all comes with them
Lokar makes a kickdown cable for aod avalable at summit racing i also used a factory duraspark dist and module go to cool cats for wiring it up i also used same setup for my buddys 390 real simple

The 83 was a 302 car. I used the aod the motor bolted right in.i did have to get the headers and oil pan from summit and i wired in a elec dist.and got a locar kickdown cable. I want to use the trans out of the 83 and the cross member because it has double humps for my dual exhaust.i put $3000 into that motor when i put it in in 06 my wife is mad that i bought the 88 and money is tight so i have to watch my money this time thanks for all your help
