I'm going to be using the ECU and wiring loom from a 92 EB Falcon (EEC-IV)
I can figure out the Falcon side, i've got all the wiring diagrams i need and have worked with them long enough to know how it all comes together.
what i don't have is a great understanding of the electrical side of the Thunderbird's EEC III.
Now add to the fact that the car itself has been converted to Right Hand Drive, it means there are a lot of things not in the factory position. The EEC was up behind the instrument cluster for example.
I'm trying to look into the connection points between the ECU Loom, and the rest of the car.
I've found a couple, one on the left of the car, near the shock tower, where it looks like some A/C related wiring, and possibly some ignition coil connections are made along with.
One close to the ECU Connector plug, a single gray plug with 3 wires.
A single yellow wire also through with the ECU loom.
I guess i'm after anyone who knows if i've missed anything.
and if not, what the single gray plug is for. (i'm assuming ignition power as a start)
I feel asif i'm missing something, given there needs to be signals for the various warning lights on the dash, along with fuel pump trigger and other key components.
perhaps i'm over estimating the EEC III's need to be integrated?
so, i'm hoping to start cleaning up the engine bay and removing things or relocating things that i don't really need.
issue is, i'm not really sure what some of the things are for. I'm also not sure if they are in the standard location, but i assume they are since i don't see any reason for them to be moved when doing the RHD conversion.
engine is a 83 CFI V8
Image 1: 1 - Vacuum switches by the looks of it, coloured lines lead me to think something for the heaterbox? maybe EGR? 2 - Relay - not sure if factory? kinda looks out of place 3 - No idea?
Finally got around to looking into why my Passenger Power WIndow doesn't work (drivers side in the US) and it appears to be something with the motor itself, can hear it making a faint click when i enguage the switch, but thats it.
Can anyone recommend somewhere online that sells the power window motor?
Also a door lock actuator, since it appears mines missing (explains why only 1 side works!)
Hey guys, i need to remove some chrome trim around the rear windscreen, getting a little rust appearing at the base of the window and want to attack it before it gets too bad.
now in the event that i break anything, i'm pretty stuffed as i won't be able to get replacements without major costs/effort.
I realise the question has been asked before, and i realise its held on with clips. but i'd like to know the best method for getting the clips released. If there is a tool available for it, does anyone have a photo of it?
i know there are options with going 5 lug involving changing spindles do later mustang items for 11" -> 13" brakes.
However i've seen it mentioned that you can use 10" rotors off a 1985 2WD 4Cyl Ranger with some slight modifications to the inside of a caliper.
Most of these discusions were on early Fox mustangs, but i havn't seen it mentioned for our birds, given the parts are much the same i can't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
has anyone used the Ranger rotors on a tbird/cougar?
main reason i'm leaning towards this options is due to a lack of parts locally to get sn95 parts and the associated tie rods and ball joints.
