Late to the party but the guy used to pass me off by either not admitting when he was wrong or trying to over complicate things to solve a simple problem. I'm not an expert on car repair or a professional mechanic but since these cars are my hoby I kinda know a thing or two about repairing them: http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?38303-low-end-power-disappeared/page3

Well, this can go on and on. He should have been gone a long time ago. Let's move forward. Can anyone think of people that have been ran off by Renzo's attitude? It's time to track these people down, and let them know about his leaving. Let's get some people back!

I jumped in this thread, kinda skimmed it but didn't realize that you were talking about the same prick who was a pain in the ass back when I still had my TC. He hopped on the f-body forums and was an arrogant prick over there too. Difference is is that those guys seemed to stroke his ego. Over there you just have to build something like everyone else and you fit right in.

This is a meaningful statement within the scope of this forum...FAMILY rather!!!....but the sad truth is that this is a microcosm for a much bigger population. And it's the difference between real enthusiasts and those are are just trying to make a profit but "like" cars. And that right there is a black-white dichotomy, we all know there are shades of grey in between (no I'm not making the reference you think I am shadaap!!! :D )

But we've ALL experienced "ridicule" or questioning of our vehicle choice, regardless of our available resources. ESPECIALLY for those here that have plenty of money to throw around on toys. "Whydja buy...that?" We have to justify our enthusiasm at least some of the time, and it's not always easy. I can't count how many people are impressed with the creature comfort of my cougar and with the overall package. But that rear window remains polarizing and will surely always be. The TBirds solve that problem but so many people will ask "Well why not a Mustang? Lose that dead weight!" And still others just "don't get it". They never knew the car existed and can't imagine why one would go out of one's way to find it.

So no, do we care what this guy thinks? No. But do we care what the general public thinks? Yes, maybe secretly, but you do. Don't deny it ;) We're all a bit "strange" in the eyes of many. And there shouldn't be anything wrong with marching to the beat of a different drum. This is as old a discussion as life itself. But the struggle continues on as societies effect a general convergence and conformity to some set of common ideas and values. If you don't ever for even a moment wonder if you "belong", great! You're strong-willed. I admit that I can't always do that, and sometimes wonder if I should just be doing what the "in-crowd" does because they seem so full of themselves and having such a good time slapping each others' backs.

But then I remember how much I enjoy being me. I can't be anything else and I don't want to be. And it's a  good thing this place exists so other people can help me be ME and encourage my bizzare behavior. So far, it's done just that, time and again!!! And I hope I do a good job of likewise returning the favor.

Holy hell! All these years and Zonda is STILL long winded!
It's Gumby's fault.

I can't help it. I think about a lotta stuff lol. And I can't ever pick out the important thoughts from the unimportant ones. So I just say everything I'm thinking. :D

But seriously. It's EASY to SAY "Eff the haters I don't care what anyone thinks of me" and a lot harder to actually not care. Then you lose friends, you're lonely and life sucks.

I was really hoping you were going to pick up on that. That's something I don't think I'll ever forget.

Next thing you know, making fun of someone's accent will be right up there with racial slurs, shagual innuendos, and religious insults.

I've got a good friend in Rhode Island....first time I met her, I couldn't help but make fun of her accent. "Where do you pahk ya cah?"
What was even more funny was listening to her (try to) make fun of my midwestern tschlong...LMAO.

I personally don't get too riled up when someone's joking with me...but with all things, there's a line that can be crossed. In my case, as far as religion, race, accent, or whatnot, it's a pretty broad, visible line. I'll usually cut someone off at the pass when it borders on straight up insult, as well.

And putting LS engines in Ford vehicle is not any different than sleeping with your own siblings....ya just don't do it.

Y'all Canucks can keep Canada...we've got enough skeeters down here without those giant bloodsucking sumbitches y'all have. Jesus...what are those things from? An orgy between Dracula, and a T-rex that got gangraped by a squadron of harrier jump jets? LOL.

I use to be ignorant like that too.  But then after dumping thousands into my 5.0L  with trick flow heads, intakes and vortech superchargers I realized just how much garbage fords 5.0L is.  Plus it maxs  at a safe level around 500hp  the LS stock bottom and block has been proven to handle well past 1000hp and you can get them from s yards for less then $500.  Sorry man.  I have gotten wiser and smarter with where I put my coin.  My T Bird will be LSX turbo powered this summer

Ignorance isn't the word I'd use to describe your reasoning..

One can also find 32v 4.6, and occasionally Navi 5.4 engines in yards...I personally saw 6 Mark VIII's yesterday, and believe me, if I'd had time, one of those engines would've came home with me.

Yeah, I know the LS is cheap power...but once you start adding bolt ons, they're no cheaper than any other pushrod block.

I also LOL at guys who have 10,000 dollar paint on their Mustang, and a 500 dollar engine with headers and a bigger TB, and brag about how much power they make. ;)

In the end, it's your car, I'm just saying there's Ford options that are no less capable, but I will give you that LS engines are fairly common.

But, so are cat turds in a litter box on the crazy old cat lady's back porch. :D
