Carm and David both filled me in on the fact that changes were made and what exactly has been done.  I'm grateful.  To be fair the comment he let out with was small in the grand scheme of things and compared to his previous actions, but it was a last straw kind of thing with him.

Personally I always thought that there were PLENTY of members here who were polite, courteous, helpful, and knew just as much or more than he did concerning these vehicles.    I also think some of his "fixes" were full-out kludges (the IAT just sitting on the intake manifold?  Really?).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect.  I've had a few arguments on here; although they seem to be with all the morons who were banned from here or were just about to be, but left of their own accord before it happened.  I've always found this place to be a great resource and had I not found it, I likely would have never gotten my car to what it has become today.  My car is an expression of my passion, but it is also a culmination of knowledge; a great portion of it gained from the good people at this very place.  I hope some of my previous experience and posts have helped people with issues they have had or perhaps given them ideas and inspiration for their own cars.  I've been on these boards since 1998 and this always has been my "go to."

Thanks,
Pauly

Scott, There are probably quite a few type A's here who are regulars, myself included.  I do not think any of them stirred the pot the way he did for as long as he did.

If I'm not mistaken, he was a contributing factor as to why the original Tom (TurboCoupe50) has been absent.

THERE'S someone I miss.

I agree totally.  I really enjoy this site and truly like these cars.

I am a member of another forum that is for early Fox body cars which has a button that we can select to ignore any posts from obnoxious or filthy language members.
I have never been able to find that button on this site, but it sure would be a help in the case of strong language users, Mustang & 2.3 haters, and trouble makers like the one that this thread addresses.
It saves a member from even thinking about leaving a valuable forum like this one because of a couple of problem posters.
This is the only Fox-body Tbird site that I have found where one can expect to get a good informative answer to questions even though your not part of the incrowd.

BLKBRD88, I think that's because we're all the "incrowd". This forum isn't really big enough to have cliques, and that's why it's so successful. The fact that it's probably the only forum dedicated to all Fox birds and cats, regardless of engine, helps too.

Guess I've just been too busy with other things to even notice that this was going on.

*shrug* Can't say I'm really going to miss him. Some kids just don't play well with others.

Another thing is...a lot of the folks here have either met, or have spent some time with one another, mostly due to CatJam of years past.

I've personally only met two members of the board, 88turbo and jcassity...both are guys you'd want with you in a se of any sort.

It's funny how I met up with Scott and his wife...almost by accident, though I'd taken some parts with me to swap with him. We were visiting my sis-in-law's cabin, and it was dark when I made my return trip. Not being overly familiar with the road I needed, I turned off on Scott's road by mistake. Followed it a ways...saw a Cougar. Then saw the porch of his mansion...recognized it from pics he posted here. At least he didn't shoot me on sight though...I was unsure how we'd be received. Even though he was sick as shiznit, he took the time to show me around.

Turned out his place is only a few hundred yards from the cabin that my sis in law was working on. Turned out to be some drama with her and the guy she was seeing...he got caught dipping into someone's cookie jar while the sis in law was away...ouch.

Graham and I have hung out a time or two, one of the more memorable nights was going to wal mart about 2 AM....wonder we didn't get kicked out lol.

Yep, it's a tight knit group. I'm ok with being a little part of it. Lot of names and cars of people who no longer come here that I can remember though...kinda sucks to see people drift away. It's inevitable, I suppose, but it sucks.

One of the guys I remember talking to was Sick88Tbird...Don. He had the 351w EFI Bird that he put together with various parts and it ran quite well. He was building an even better 351w engine, I think with some sort of forced induction, and all of a sudden he left. I bought my DA1 off of him...hope he's doin ok. Hell of a nice guy..

I think that was what I was trying to say, but you put it into clearer words.

Being one of the later joiners can be a tough experience on many car forums.

I don't hate 2.3's, but i have never owned one. I try very hard to not post on things i don't actually have experience with.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I think if you click on the user name you want to block and go to the view profile page there is an "ignore this user" to click on. I have never used it, but have noticed it.

I have owned about a dozen 5.0s & probably 8 or 10 2.3s both turboed & N/A.
Both the V8 and the boosted four bangers have their positive points and both are fun to drive, because they respond to WOT so differently. One being torquey from the git go, and the other one feeling like an afterburner kicks in at around 2700rpm.
I still own both and can't really say which I prefer...........'causen I likes to run dem both!

I'm always behind on technology. I only joined up here when the Usenet (alt.autos.mercury.cougar) finally fizzled out, LOL.

I have been on umpteen car forums (and other types of forums), and this is the most civil, level-headed forum around, and I hope it never fizzles out. I would hate to have to join Facebook just to get some quality cougar fellowship, hehe. Hats off to the mods and great guys on here.
