Yea I know, I have all winter.
BUT, It would be great to have the bodywork done, and everything ready to paint come early spring.
This part, up in and around the trunk well, is probably the worst and hardest part to get to. Lots of small spaces.

Thanks for the masks, I'll look for there arrival around the holiday

So I blasted for a better part of the day. I and it just isn't looking any better. Most of the areas, I can't get close enough to get the rust off. and the rest, It just won't come off any more then it already has.
Looks like I'm gonna have to convert the rest of the rust, and seal it with rust coating.
Here's what I ended up with.

And for those of you who require a little progress in their pics.............

I use the 3m (chemical / biological) filters on my mask.  Im not sure why everyone siad the 3m masks were not good enough, i have lots of sealed filters that you screw on each side of the mask.  Maybe you guys thought I was talking about dust masks.  I like this kind of work you doing.  The blasting part is where all the good detailed quality comes in so the primer has its fullest effect.

thanks for the latest porn,, :D

I use the same filtered masks for the bad stuff, and the lighter duty face masks for the body work.

That rust treatment paint (zero rust in my case) will grab onto just about anything that doesn't flake off. I treated everything yesterday with picklex. Bare metal and anything that still has some surface rust.
That quarter panel will stay looking like that for a long time without rusting. (about a year) I just need to scuff it before I prime it or do filling.

Here's where I usually buy most of my stuff. Sometimes I can find better deals elsewhere, but this is almost always the cheapest place.
I also belong to this forum too. As they say, it's my home away from home. I always double check with the collision pros before I rip into anything. ;)

Picklex is very good and safe to use. It's a little pricey at $32 a pint, but I just started using my 2nd pint the other day on the body panels. A couple small spritz's and a scuff pad did the entire quarter. Just work it in, and wipe the extra residue off with a paper towel. One pint would probably do a normal job though

It will convert rust, and keep bare metal from flash rusting from moisture in the air. But it will rust if it's in contact with rain and snow.

Zero-Rust is on the same page. Definitely the cheapest place to find it to. I did find it cheaper by $2 once, but that place is gone now. But $52 for a gallon of black is well worth what the product does. Right now I have used just under 2 quarts on my car. It's sprayable, brushable, and paint roller friendly. doesn't need to be activated and doesn't stink to high hell.
