Pretty much every panel on my 87 is new, rebuilt, or re constructed. :D

today was a good day......

To start off, I had to do some repair work to the front metal supports under the bumper cover.
Had a bit of a bolt snapping problem 2 years ago when I was taking the car apart.


So I pounded out the old bolts and replaced them with new ones. (I buy them by the 100's)

I also cleaned up the rust. treated it, and painted them

Project 2.....
This is the other backing plate for the bumper cover.


Pounded those bolts out too.


And I had to get a little creative with the repair on this one.

then I started putting the car together, and adjusted everything.






It was really nice to use new bolts on everything. Now I know how Vinnie feels when working on a car... No rust!
Had to do a lot of adjusting , and re- adjusting to get the hood, fenders, and doors to line up.
It went along pretty nice all day. Took my time, and finished bolting everything together.
Here it is. Ready for primer and blocking.








Also took a pic of my grille. Probably the nicest part of the entire car.


And a complimentary Vert pic.


Tomorrow I'm getting ready to prime.
