Project Evolution *** Project Complete **** Wednesday July 9, 2014 Reply #1084 – March 20, 2009, 07:29:25 AM Dear pollen hater,It would be best to keep your car in the garage all spring. Or start a bee farm to keep it under control.Dr. D Quote Selected

Project Evolution *** Project Complete **** Wednesday July 9, 2014 Reply #1091 – March 20, 2009, 11:08:31 AM Okay doc, when I got my car it had little bits of surface rust which was taken care of easily but these holes (See below) see to be more serious. I worked at a machine shop a while back and was given I want to say something like 14 Ga. steel? is this too heavy and should I be tpuppies the hole more? I know it will have to be welded (Duh) but it there anything to keep this from occurring in the future?I know how to do body work in theory, but I can't say I've put it into practice. Quote Selected

Project Evolution *** Project Complete **** Wednesday July 9, 2014 Reply #1093 – March 20, 2009, 11:51:40 PM watch out for the holes in the fenders around the wheel well. If there is a hole, I'd bet the whole inside is rotted out. Quote Selected
Project Evolution *** Project Complete **** Wednesday July 9, 2014 Reply #1094 – March 21, 2009, 08:22:57 AM 86XR7project,It's really hard to tell what's rusted under the primer. It looks as though there's rust spots under it to. The lip on the wheel well is going to be your biggest problem. once it starts rusting between the inner and outer metal, you won't be able to stop the rusting unless you separate the metal and remove the rust or treat it.Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I'm out of the US this weekend and checking up on messages. If you have more pics of the rust, post them and I'll check them out. Try to get some inside and underside pics if you can.If it looks as bad as the pics look around the well, you may have to replace more then you realize. Quote Selected
