I looked at the tall lid in the VERY early 87 TC, it's Shadow Blue to match the Shadow Blue interior! No although I DID get this car from the original owner, it also had an A234 roller cam, so it very well COULD be he slapped in the "better" lid.

That being said, the flat lid in John's 84 is 100% the original lid, and it is Charcoal.

So I guess you want to here that a  PINTO is a classic. Even if I think they look funky!

Mine came with a tall lid matching the interior colors.
It was cracked and bent backwards, so i Replaced it with a tall lid that looks exactly like Fila's that i picked up from a JY car that was an 85-86 as i recall...

Worse than that. even an AMC Pacer is a "classic"

And an old man down the road from my property has the back of one , and also the ass of a AMC ...Javelin(? AMX?) sticking out of the stall beside it.. all covered in dust.

I'm doubting the actual mileage because of the 140 speedo... If it be known I'd bet it was new when the engine was installed...

No doubt it's a  Nice car... Am I impressed he was able to swap in the 5.0 in two years??? shiznit no... I did mine in 4 months(after work, a Saturday here and there). No mine ain't no where as pretty(I have been beating on for seven years now), but it looks just as factory as that one(AND all my unique to TC systems, A/C, etc. operate)... All I had when I did mine was a full factory wiring diagram for the '87 T-Bird and a '86 EVTM(didn't help much), plus I dug up a little on the net...

BTW one more thing, if that's Raven interior I'll kiss someones ASS, looks gray to me(compare the door lock/unlock panel to the rest of the interior). Both my TCs have the raven interior and it's black...

Tom, when Raven interiors sit in the sun, the cloth turns bluish. That happened to mine around the windows, but remains a very dark navy in the corners.

You can kiss mine too... :flip: :shakeass:

Oldraven, that one AIN'T blue(I've had one that was so faded it was closer to blue than black)... With the early gray console, I say it's ALL been swapped... AFIK gray was not offered on the '87-'88 TCs, at any rate it defiantly isn't raven(regardless of what the sticker says)... Maybe Eric has some more info on available colors for the '87s...

BTW... This is REAL Raven interior...(shot of my red TC)...

I think it is Raven!

I think the photo was too dark to see the details so he lighten it up turning the black to gray.

HI Paul!!! Takin' care of MY Birdie??? :D

I don't think so... Notice the lock/unlock panel on the door and the door gasket, those are clearly black... Also the light switches, A/C vents and inst cluster, etc. are black... If it were a lightened pix, I'd thing everything would have a similar appearance...

I still say the whole interior has been swapped...

Hi Tom,

I see your point.

The bird is doing good. I put 800KM on it this weekend. I went to Central to visit my dad and sister. Sunday was their birthdays along with father's day. You still planning on visiting up this way?

We'd really like too get up your way, maybe next year... Glad to hear the TC is treating you well...

BTW Your TC has raven interior, I surely don't remember it having gray A pillar moldings, door panels etc... I do see what you are saying about the washout, right bolster on the driver seat does have a blackish appearance... Maybe it has the original seats, but no way on the rest of the interior...

My Raven interior has gray A pillar trim and door panels in fact most of the plastic pieces are gray(kick panels, sill covers, etc...). Even had gray carpet.
