Suspension/Steering / Mustang SN95 Tokico D-Spec Struts & Shocks
This is a pretty old thread, but I'm going through the same thing. I'm not sure how much more thread you get with other brands, but the Mustang Konis from FRPP leave no threads at all with my stock strut mounts on 86. Unless the 87-88 have a different mount, the 86 does not even losely resemble the 'Stang one. Can't imagine using any bushing from one to another. And to make things more complicated, the stang stock mount and CC plates have the 3 studs more than 1/2 inch closer together than Cougar/Birds...figuring it out right now...

Suspension/Steering / Front coil-over install
Moser will make any custom axles for not much more than stang ones are. I have 4 lug 31 spline ChroMoly in my 8.8 TC rear that they charged me about $230 for.

A Mark VII is like 3800lbs I doubt a 2.3t would do too good in that.

Well, there was a 2.4 Turbo Mark VII from the factory. It was fairly quick.............Diesel six tough;)  I always used to wonder why is the a Turbo light in the dash of my V8 LSC

Engine Tech / Carb cant decelerate quickly....
Vacspooge leak. It's sucking air somewhere it shouldn't. try taking a spray bottle and lightly spray water around the intake/carb mating area. When you hit the spot thats sucking air, the car will bogg down or stall. My bet, if he took the carb off, it's not seated right or the old gasket is shot.

Engine Tech / Header Help
Semi related question; steering shaft clearance. I have the same issue with motor mount hitting on FRPP stainless shorties, but I also cant get them to clear the steering shaft. Is it just me?

Engine Tech / Long tube headers
I had a set of Hedmans on my '86, and all I have to say is, you get what you paid for. Passenger side collector  kept digging into my AOD pan and making it leak. Drivers side collector ended up facing dead space about 3 inches left of the hump on the trans cross member. My car was column shift and I had no issues with linkage, or ground clearance. They were a pain to install and take back out, with engine lifted to the max still had to take off the starter and wrestle with them for a while. Never again. I've heard different issues with Hedmans from different people, so my guess it's quality control and no two headers are alike.

P.S. Long header runners  and short intake runners build high end horsepower and take away torque, so unless you're building a 6,000 RPM spinner, you have no use for them
