Turbo Mark VII Time

Picked this car up for $800 a few months ago and have started the winter project on it. Its going to be a small turbo, street car that should be some fun.

The day it came home.

Had to take the loaner wheels off it so, they could go back to a Capri.

For the charge piping to fit, I had to cut out a useless piece of the fender apr0n.

It needs a different coupler for the throttle body but, that'll come in due time.

Got the intercooler installed even though, its far to small for the job.

I've been going back and forth on getting a two new Mark 7 engine harnesses or putting in a Mustang harness since, the connectors for the o2, ignition module and such were burnt to a crisp for some reason. The car doesn't have air ride or emissions and more so those bug chunks of wire are useless any how.

Started taking the interior out to get rid of the dead weight and realized, the seats weight a metric ton. The quest for Kirkeys and a way to mount them has started.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Call me dumb, and I am too lazy to google it, but are you putting a turbo on a stock engine? Can you do that? Well obviously you can, but is it going to be able to hold up?

It'll be fine until the 500whp mark then, its a ticking time bomb.

My care level for this motor is at the point, I'm not turning hte boost down. It will remain where ever the 15lb spring in the gate and, the boost controller from the last car limit boost at.

Nice. When the block splits dump in a 351W. That should handle the boost better ;).

I've got a Mark VII kicking around as well. Paid $800 for it about two years ago.

It is/was an On3 kit, it's been changed to work with a different engine combo.

To get it up and running, it will be on Megasquirt and then later on, it will move onto something in the FAST/Big Stuff world.

I have Stingers PIMP....which is microsquirt verses the full blown megasquirt...

Its pretty slick, well supported by Shannon and Wes.

I havent really used it yet...

I have an On3 351 kit...

The only update thus far is, I broke a Tox bit trying to get the seat belt bolt out of the trans tunnel last night.

I do need to get the carpet out so, I can take it to the other side of the state for a good cleaning.
