6 fingers is the best way to go.  Otherwise, it is hard to play when your mind is so ingrained on only using 6.  Fret a G chord? Not a chance, your middle finger will still be searching for which string to press down on, lol.  So I found it easier to  get mentally adjusted at first by putting a capo on the 5th fret, tune the G string down a half, and play it normal with the high string now acting as a high A.  Later on I found it best to tune it to Bron Y'Aur tuning, and experiment with drones.  Certainly not my "main" axe, lol.

I used to play ALOT, played in a band in highschool and had a couple cd's out, nothing GREAT but still something that i could put in a cd player and the people listening would ask who it is bc they are pretty good.  Makes you feel good.  I had an ibanez roadstar II, a couple homemade electrics, a washburn t12 taurus bass a yamaha 12 string and a couple other no name guitars.  If i can find some of our recordings or pics of my guitars ill post.

Cheers

it's funny you mention Ibanez... An hour ago, I was looking for a case so I can take my Kramer with me on vacation this week... Opened a case I haven't opened in about 9 years and realized I still have my black Ibanez Roadstar II in there...  I got more cases I havent opened in years...I better start checking them too

That 7 string acoustic is an Ibanez Artwood.

I'd like to get my hands on an Ibanez PG model.  I'm a big Paul Gilbert fan.
