I bought my first electric in 1993 and I've been playing ever since. I've owned quite a few guitars since then; some sold, some stolen.

My current pride and joy is my '98 MIM Telecaster. I play it through my '66 Teisco tube head and it sounds unreal. Just as clean and bright as anything you would hear from Danny Gatton, James Burton, Roy Buchanan or any of the other "Telemasters." It sounds incredible.

I've done a lot of recording in the past ten years, some of it has turned out great (PM me and I'll show you).

Here's my current inventory:

1998 Fender Telecaster (Mexican);
1995 Peavey Raptor Intl. Series;
2002 Peavey Raptor Intl. Series;
1992 Yamaha RBX-550 4-string bass;
1999 Aria acoustic;
1989 Alvarez acoustic;
1983 Hondo H-76 Strat copy;
Unknown bass (fretless project)

1978 Yamaha CP-20 buttstuffog keyboard (sounds like a Rhodes with weighted keys, velocity sensitive)

2008 Tama Hyper-Drive 5-pc.;
Ludwig snare;
Sabian cymbals

Fender Champion 300 amp;
Five DOD pedals with board;
Crate GT-65 amp
1966 Teisco Checkmate 25 tube head

I used to play guitar, but never really was any good at it. I was in a band with one of my friends and his brother in law. When his sister and brother in law split up, so did the band.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Some of mine:

The center and right in the first picture are made from scratch customs. And the one on the left is a '63 Teisco Del Rey that is now fire engine red with Ferrari logos on the headstock and body. :)

I've been playing since I was about 15. A little bit of acoustic, a little bit of bass. Then I had no amp or access to an acoustic, so I didn't play very often. Once or twice a year, if that, at a family get together.

Then I bought a Peavey TNT 130 and started playing with my MP3 player, and shortly after a friend told his brother that he knew a bass player. That was a year and a half ago, and we've been playing nearly every weekend since then. One guy literally lives up the hill and around the turn. We had three paying gigs this summer, and just played a friend's house party for free last weekend. We'll be playing some (there's going to be an open mic in the shop to whoever wants to play) at our Halloween party, and I'm working on my brother and sister-in-law to have us do a house party at their place, free with a band-jar on the kitchen counter. We want to buy a PA, with whatever we make over the next couple of gigs. Right now we have one mic playing into a Polytone Mega-Brute (which is true to its name) combo into a Roland cab. It's ok, but it could be much better.

My parents bought me my 1st bass for a grad present, which is a late 90's Fender Jazz MIM. I bought a Yamaha electric acoustic when I got engaged to Ange, and last fall I bought a Highland Thunder Chief semi-hollow.

I just realised that I never took any pictures of the Highland and posted them before. I'll get some, but they might be a bit dusty. I know my Fender case is terrible. My german shepherd decided to sleep in it the other day.

Cougarcragar, that looks like a Fender P-bass knock-off. There are some VERY nice collections on here. And just when you thought things were getting quiet, Crystal hits us all with a dose of bad-ass!

A Cat JAM would be a blast. Unfortunately, I can't even afford a calendar right now.

And that's the name of the band of the guy I bought the amp from. The horses and name are gone now.

But at that age, it's usually something else entirely. What's the story with the Spencer's, Mayhem?

I might have a gig or two on the side now. A guy in my class, and two brothers that I met today, play lead guitar, second guitar, and drums, respectively. The drummer sings pretty well, I'm told. Anyway, they play a lot of metal, and just about everything else. Versatile is good. They want to do a gig in Port Hawksbury (where I go to school) early next month. I spent most of my evening learning new tunes.

And there's another group of guys in the same town that have a bachelor apartment rented just to jam in. I know the drummer from school: he's the guy who showed me around the place when he was taking my course last year. Now he's taking his third class. Cool guy. They don't have a lead guitar/vocals anymore because of.... band politics. There was a 'girlfriend' involved.
