I'll have to get some better pics of it.  It really sucks having to take it off and put it back on every time I put it on and off the trailer, lol.  At least it doesn't take too long to take on and off.

ok, more pics of the splitter

Dad and I ended up going to a Corvette Cleveland autox at Sandusky Speedway.  Sandusky Speedway claims to be a 1/2 mile oval and the autox consisted of 2 laps around the track with a flying start using the tracks timing transponders.  The course consisted of a whopping 3 cone slalom on both the front and back straights.  Really simple and made perfectly for corvettes(so far we've found that corvette people can't drive.  On a traditional autox, they have to take any thought process away from them and give them really narrow gates with only one possible line and who can get through it the fastest).  My fastest time was 45.x seconds making me think its not a 1/2 mile oval, lol.  This was FTD by a couple seconds over dads gt40 kit car with a TT 500 Cadillac engine/trans out of a 76 Eldorado.  I ended up spinning rod bearings on 1 and 4 running it that hard unfortunately.  I thought I had taken care of the oiling problems with the M127 oil pump, but apparently not.

Ok, so Crower has me really pissed off right now.  I ordered 4 new rods(in stock) and 2 replacement rods(backordered-2weeks) when I ordered this stuff.  Finally get an email back today asking where my rods are, and they haven't even shipped them yet.  Still have 4 days before they will ship them when the 2 other rods are ready.  WTF.  Wish I had made two separate orders now!!

Well, I guess its been a while since I updated this.  I got the engine back together about a month after I blew it up.  Its been running strong and actually had it tuned in early Sept.  On 20 psi, it made 333whp, 354 tq.  Feels a lot stronger than that.  I had to switch to race gas after that tune because it blew a head gasket the next week(nice huh), but its not a big deal.  This years upgrades are going along pretty steadily, and have already lost a ton of weight.  I'm pretty sure the car weighed 2820 last year, and have already gotten it down to 2667 with a passenger seat or 2637 without it.  I haven't even gotten to making any of the carbon fiber parts yet!  I thought I was going to have a hard time getting it to a low 2600 range, and 2500's are going to be easy actually!  On to photos.

Trunk floor was breaking from the weight of the 15 gal cell.

Floor cut out

Start of bracing and 10 gal cell

Battery moved lower next to cell

Lost 77 lbs between the two doors with the windows out

New AFCO 4piston calipers, 12.1" x .81" rotors on all 4 corners

Had to cut off the original brake mounting ear off the spindle for caliper clearance

Have to get the calipers centered up to get the brackets welded on right.  Required cardboard cracker box pieces and some vinyl siding lol.

Nothing like major reworking(center hole and lug hole sizes) on $125 parts

Old calipers.  Hard to believe these were a nice red when I put them on 3 years ago

Sorry, I haven't been posting a whole lot lately.  Hopefully the car will be pretty again by spring.  I have to redo at least 1 of the flares.  Smashed it 3 times with cones flung off the front tire.  I also need to make a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid, and that's the point I'm at now.  I also realized why the car is so light.  It always got weighed with 12-13 gal of fuel left in it, and now it maybe has 6 in it.  That probably accounts to the 50# I've been scratching my head over.  I also figured out if I could get a decent tire for my bogarts, I could loose another 50+ lbs, but just can't justify the cost of AVON tires.
