Got it in.....UPDATE today......

The GT40-P engine is now officially in the car.I have to get the valve train lined out.I think I need new pushrods (different length) to install the 1.7 roller rockers,but I'm not REAL sure.Sometimes people can get away with stock length rods,sometimes not.I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to that,so,I'll be taking the car to the machine shop and let them decide what does or doesn't need to be done.After that,we'll see how she runs.For now,seems O.K. (I've been real gentle with it until I get a "feel" for it).It does have that sewing machine clatter to it,and with the new valve covers,it gets louder.LOL.This will be addressed soon when I take the car to the shop.Those guys are really good at what they do and build most of the race engines around here.News as it happens...............

Don't get excited yet.....The Sport is at the machine shop.They are checking to see why my exhaust push rods are going through my rocker arms. I hope to know something tomorrow.I'll post the findings when they tell me. I'm just waiting for now.

What I meant is....the rocker end of the push rod went THROUGH the end of the rocker arm. When I pulled the rocker,the push rod was stuck through the end of it.I'm waiting to hear from the Machine shop about the cause and cure.The 1.7 Cobra rockers are in the trunk,the stamped rockers were violated bad.

I did not degree the cam,I did verify TDC.At this point,it doesn't matter,Performance Machine is taking on the task of getting the old girl back in fighting shape.I'm just waiting.

I just got home with the Sport. She's running strong....for what little driving I just did,and I didn't drive it hard.I'll fill the tank up with premium gas and see what happens.The timing is at 12 degrees right now.More news as I test the new engine.

I welcomed the dark side and currently am driving a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT plus, with a 5.9, Code named project "Night Runner"
Shes black on black, fully loaded, with headers, 180 tstat, e fan, straight exhaust into a cherry bomb vortex ler, full tune up, ported intake and T/B, MSD coil, and round aircleaner.
Mods to come: Fully rebuilt and heavily modded 46RE, and a richmond rachet locker.
