k.  the main thing i want to do is aquire the sound the SLP's make with a catback X pipe.

so with that checklist i made earlier. would that accomplish what i want to do?just change the headers to the mustang 5.0 get a cat back X pipe and the SLp lers and tips put it all together and done.

correct?  I dont want to do serious high end mods.  I'm just lookin for the loud sound at the moment.

I appreciate you guys being patient with me and helping me out so much.
thanks alot.

there is no cat back x pipe
a cat back, is AFTER the x pipe
This is the SLP LX cat back you would want

THIS is an x pipe, the X pipe bolts to the headers and the cat back bolts to it

Does this clear it up for you?

Now that cat back SHOULD hook up if your car has factory duels, if not you have to get a custom y pipe made to hook up to the cat back, or get headers and a x pipe.

JUST the cat back will make the car alot louder, those resonators are RASPY. But the whole set up will be the best sound. Period.

what would you recomend? would it be better to just get the mustang headers, X pipe and resonators.  or just get the SLP kit and have a shop make me a custom y pipe.

(lol sorry if im a pain at the moment. to make this easier. just tell me what to get and i'll get it.)

hey man im 18 i understand all the questions
well if I was you, I would get the headers, x pipe, resonators, and some nice tips, and have the cat back bent up for you (find a shop with a mandrel bender, makes the smooth bends not the ones with ridges). That would be the most cost effective way to get a GREAT performing, AND sounding exhaust. I warn you it WILL BE LOUD.

I will pretty much say DONT do SLP if you run no cats
It will be WAY to loud. Im talking you will be heard for at least a mile away if you get on it.

this is a off road H pipe, bbk headers, and a SLP LM1 cat back
it is LOUD

heres another with a off road h headers and SLP cat back
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn6rHqAbUWc&feature=related

Now THIS is what a STOCK mustang headers and h pipe, with a SLP loudmouth kit sounds like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lq9cO5379yk&feature=related

If your looking for ONLY sound and dont want CRAZY loud.
Buy a set of used factory msutang shortys, a used factory mustang H pipe, and a SLP cat back. Its not INSANE loud, but its DEFINATLY a HUGE increase in sound and power, on the cheap.

as long as its not off road it should still be quiet enough in the car to talk with no issues right?

the shop in town uses a good mandrel bender.

my main goal is to have a loud sound at high rpm and good tone at normal speeds so i can still talk the miss in the passenger seat.

possibly something like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ505z4TRhs

just looking for the easiest way to get the sound I'm looking for with SLP's

The cat back should be quieter than the off road right.

thought at first i could just buy the SLP loudmouth resonater and have a shop weld that on the single pipe and that should do it. but not sure.

cool, thanks.
well i guess im gonna search for the mustang headers and gaskets, a good H pipe and the resonators.

gonna call the local shop to see how much they'll charge for a H pipe and to have a car back bent. vs buying the H pipe from a company.

Headers

H or X pipe

lers

ler shop will finish it......DONE !!!!

It's THAT simple. You may need to wait for a while. You seem to be obsessing over this and making it complicated. You're going to be one of those people who end up spending a thousand dollars on a $300 exhaust system.Calm down and keep it simple. This is the 5th page of posts over a very simple exhaust system.I thinks it's well covered now.

Heres a nice used 2 cat h pipe. Would be PERFECT for keeping the noise low enough so the cops wont bust your balls, but minus 2 cats from the factory set up it will growl nicely with a 2.5 inch cat back and SLP's. JUST DO IT.

BUY ALL THREE, have the cat back made at a shop with those lers, start the car and enjoy the sound.

Hope I made this simple for you!!
