How would you cool the exhaust? Does your Volvo inboard have wet manifolds?

Interesting you should ask.

I was wondering if I took the cover off (over the engine compartment) and ran the factory cast iron turbo manifold, would that keep the manifold cool enough?

I have seen guys with V-8s and headers that are not water cooled do it. And the engine would get more air than in the car.

Anyway, the sweet sound of a turbo engine under full boost would be so cool while cruising with a tube out back.:D

Years ago I wanted to find a Chevette and put it's front subframe under the front of my '84 Lynx (same as Escort)

Then I would put a narrowed 8.8 from a Fox Stang in it on a custom full frame.

With a screaming Turbo 2.3 and around 2600 lbs with driver, that would make one fun ride, especially with stock looking wheels.

I had an '83 Chevette ....  til I rolled  it through some  smaller aspen trees several times.  Oddly enough, 2 days later at the lot, I fired it up and drove it away.  So I second the vote on a Chevette.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

2nd maybe a Ford probe?

3rd fox body mustang coupe

4th mazda miata would be cool and you can also fit a five-o into it seen only 1 its been in the make-a-wish car show here 2 or 3 years

There's a guy in Edmonton who has done the 302 Miata, and even had a blower on it last I'd heard. He never did race it though.

I just thought about a car I've always wanted to own. For some reason I never put two and two together. Caterham Lotus 7.

Oldraven: There's one of those Sevens running around in Sackville. It's powered by a 2.3, but not turbocharged. You can't appreciate how low to the ground those cars are until you pull up next to one in a T-Bird. The thing reminds me of Barny Rubble's car. Looks fun to drive tho...

Nice. I saw a review of one some time ago, and the guy said it was the only car he'd driven that he could have the palm of his hand on the asphalt, and his arse in the seat.... comfortably. I would have to drive it with a helmet. It would be like driving a bike to work, but I'd bet way more fun!

After the "Seller's regret" thread, I was just thinking a 2.3t and a T5 would be a hell of a lot of fun in a '79 pinto. Maybe a nice baby blue enamel with a white vinyl top and granny cloth seats, 14" wheels and hubcaps, nice quiet exhaust...

Yeah, that'd be fun. :)
