he says it all right here. the 1035 is a "better" gasket, but requires closer tolerances to be used to its potential. it is less forgiving, and  on an undecked block/head it may be more pr0ne to failure.

The whole problem was just a stud came loose the hg was intact. Im almost finish porting the head and will be swapping in the other engine in. Hopefully by monday it should be back up and running will keep you posted.

Oh, I only have 10K miles on the decking on the block and 500 miles on the decking on the head. I should be OK :hick:

wow, thats a hell of a big hood. its amazing how it still cant hide all you have in there!what are your ideas on trying to ocver up that piping? assuming you want to try and cover it.

I could of redone the piping to cover it up but I like it sticking out of the hood makes it look intresting. And as for hoodless I wish I could do it but I dont know if its legal.

..... liked the idea and good work but im not sure on it. As for hoodless being legal. thing about all the old phone booth cars, no hoods. its just that you are going to open it up to the weather

I welcomed the dark side and currently am driving a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT plus, with a 5.9, Code named project "Night Runner"
Shes black on black, fully loaded, with headers, 180 tstat, e fan, straight exhaust into a cherry bomb vortex ler, full tune up, ported intake and T/B, MSD coil, and round aircleaner.
Mods to come: Fully rebuilt and heavily modded 46RE, and a richmond rachet locker.
