The Bad: Car has an R-title. Not from an accident. the car was vandalized and the stereo stolen. Stereo was worth over $5000 so the car was considered totaled. Mostly broken glass and small scratches which all buffed out. The clear coat is peeling so it will need paint. Two small spots of rust. One in drivers rear fender well and the other pass side rear window bottom corner. ABS does not work, needs computer. No A/C, front sway bar, PS or power seats. PRC shocks aren't very good(great for the strip though). Front bumper shocks have been moved slightly to accommodate the intercooler. Custom work to front metal to fit intercooler. No idea how strong compared to stock. Haven't had any problems with the custom work at all.

The good:

Mods:SDS stand alone, stock unported head, ranger roller regrind cam, Esslinger adj. cam pulley, custom upper & ported lower intakes, SC60 turbo, powerstroke intercooler, 60mm TB, 75pph inj., Walboro 255HP pump, Kirban adj. fuel reg., Bob's header, 3" exhaust, MSD 6al, MSD coil, MSD Launch Control, Spec stage III clutch, Gillis Valve, Weld Draglites, street legal tires, custom through the floor sub-frames

Car has Polk Audio DB separates in all 4 corners. Alpine CD player. Stereo not currently hooked up. Still have stock wheels with good tires for winter. Car has Weld Draglites (15x9 rear, 15x5 front) with MT front runners and BFG radial TA's. Will inlcude Et Streets(26x11) for extra $$$.

I am looking to get $3000obo. for the car with both sets of wheels.

May be open to trades.

Lounge / Re: turbo header
Maybe you should go over to turboford.org and do a search on SSautochrome.  Everything you read WILL be bad.  They did a group buy on their turbos and every turbo(all, every single one) failed within a few hundred miles or even before it was installed.

no mods,  other than a 3\8 inch spacer at the top of the frame (see pic on my other post, i am using the qa1 with no problems

What was the purpose of the 3/8th inch spacer?  This is good to know.  I may put one in when the stroker goes in.

Oh yeah does anyone know when this will happen? If it is a couple of months from now then maybe I will have the bird with the V8 in it. I am about 3 hours away from E-Town so I wll try to make it.

James

Basically you send in your entry and they will contact you about being selected.  They then will notify you about 2 weeks prior to the event as to when it will be held.

Is this only for TC's? Or is it for any 84-88 TBird/Cougar? I hope so cause most TC's are not that fast compared to SC's but a respectable for what they have for the weight the have to push.

James

This is for all the 83-88 t-birds.

There are only a couple TC's that run in the 12's because most people building fast 2.3 turbos don't bother with a TC and just put the engine in a POS stang.

Not as fast as some of the SC's but a hell of a lot cheaper to mod.

General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / Re: REVENGE!! MM&FF wants another TBird/Cougar Shootout!!
I was on of the TC's that was dropped in the TC vs. SC shootout.  I ran a 13.28 and only 2 SC's beat me but I was still dropped because all the other TC's ran in the 16's becasue of the heat(110+ track temp).

Like turbocoupe50 mentioned.  This is a hush hush thing.  No cameras or video cameras allowed.  More SC's showed up than were invited and they almost called the event before it started.  They will monitor the boards and look for info leaks from the shootout.  It will be during a weekday on a closed track.  For those worried about racing and then not having the article happen.  They pay to rent the whole track.  Unless the cars are dog ass slow they will not drop the article unless we make it happen.

I sent in my entry.  I hope to be selected.

Engine Swapping / Re: 2.3 Turbo or a 5.0
The 5.0 would probably be easier in the long run if you don't know your way around the 2.3T.  I will say that a 2.3T would be a ton of fun and get much better gas mileage(if you can keep your foot out fo it).  I always loved going to the track and smoking a 5.0 and then popping the hood to this tiny little 2.3 in a big heavy TC.  This year(if I have enough time to get it back together) we're going to be playing with the supercharged and nitroused 5.0's.

User Rides / Re: Finally got pics of my 88TC
Steve Choma's TC has basically the same combo and he makes 335rwhp with 25psi.  He has also has a lightly ported stock valved head and a stock bottom end.  The fresh bottom end and big valve head on Nick's would make a big difference in flow.  If properly tuned I could easily see 300+ with 18psi.  Especially if he has a bigger hybrid turbo.

If you do the math with my best quarter mile mph 102.5 and the race weight of 3552 it equates to about 300rwhp and that was with only 16 psi.  The tune was terrible and since that run we found out the valve train geometry is way off.  In fact the rockers were cutting into the retainers and when we pulled the head off 3 of the 4 intake valves didn't completely close.  I can't wait to get it on the dyno once it's fixed.

I'm looking for around 370+rwhp and hope the T5 lasts till next year.  The Tremec isn't on the upgrade list till spring 06.
