I think what Tom is saying (and I could be wrong) when bonding "these two" surfaces together , when fluid or sensors don't come into play , it doesn't matter which color you use it isn't going to work ...or hasn't in his experience ... I have had that same experience of silicone not bonding well to glass.
Of course I could be wrong, but that's how I understood him.

It was already an option for the Mark VII somewhere around 1986-87, so Ford just shifted the parts over to the Cougar. I imagine it wouldn't be terribly difficult to transfer things over to a Cougar or T-Bird. Just have to find a place to mount the switch.
Got any pics of a Mark with memory seats? ... I've never seen one, I'm curious to know how it was set up
Silicone has NEVER worked for me . it just won't stick to the glass well enough. The window weld by 3m that Tom posted the link to has worked, as well as some other application specific products . YMMV :)
you know what I'm learning from this thread (and from the classifieds) is that cougars are vastly outnumbered by birds. Has it always been this way? Or are we just falling greater victim to the natural extinction of all vehicles?
It's cuz cougars are ugly :mullet:
Just Kidding ...... I have seen 4 or 5 cougars since starting this thread , but I wasn't able to get pictures of them
