Re: what makes true power Reply #2 – December 18, 2004, 10:34:12 PM Free up the exhaust. I gutted my main catalyst (it was broken & turned sideways anyway, & the little ones were already gone) & I definitely noticed the difference. Quote Selected
Re: what makes true power Reply #3 – December 18, 2004, 10:54:02 PM Reducing the restriction of the exhasut may free up top end power, however will hurt your lower end of the power band. To do this with 3.73's may help out, or at least give you a nice exhaust note and quicker launches. Headers, x-pipe (h-pipe), hi-flow lers and a set of 3.73's are what I would suggest. Removing the air silencer is free, advance the timing to 14* is also free, but costs on the end of running 93oct or better. Quote Selected

Re: what makes true power Reply #5 – December 19, 2004, 09:40:18 AM Adding a NOS sticker to each c pillar window will give you an instant 50HP.But seriously, nitrous would give you the boost you want, at a pretty penny though, roughly 1200 for a starter kit. Quote Selected

Re: what makes true power Reply #11 – December 21, 2004, 10:16:28 PM I gutted my cat and it seems that I am running through gas like it is nothing. Granted a 5.0 uses a lot of gas as it is but this is a little crazy. Is this because of not having a cat or is something else causeing my milage to drop? Quote Selected
Re: what makes true power Reply #12 – December 21, 2004, 11:01:13 PM sounds like you have no back pressure and are hitting the gas harder for longer to get going . Quote Selected
Re: what makes true power Reply #13 – December 21, 2004, 11:25:44 PM If the exhaust is still stock I'd say there is still a decent amount of backpressure. Could be any number of things. Timing might be off, injector stuck open, leaking gas tank (YES I had a friend driving around for quite some time like that before he figured it out ) Quote Selected
Re: what makes true power Reply #14 – December 22, 2004, 04:36:25 AM Just checked the timing, it is right on the money. I guess the next thing I will have to check for is the injectors. Please tell me I can take them out without takeing my intake off? Quote Selected
