ok got the tranny work done. dont ask it added a day onto the job but now I dont have to worry about what to do with the rod for the kickdown. the motor is still just sitting in there not bolted down yet. the exhaust is the first thing on the agenda tomorrow due to the noise it creates cutting to pipe. next thing after that is the mounts. Someone do me a favor and lay something straight across the fenders like a broom handle and tell me how much clearance you have between the handle and the top of the tensioner pulley please. Im way high on it but I dont want to drop it to low either and cause other problems. The only things left underneath to do is exhaust, shifting linkage, replace the tranny mount, tighten the kickdown cable bracket, and the motor mounts. after that the cars ready to go back on the ground for good. unless I have to realign the front end, readjust the coil overs, or find a leak. also on my coil overs, I raised them about 2 to 3 inches and the car sat a little bit lower then it did with the V6 in it. Im guessing a 302 has some hella weight difference. I did get it to a point where I can turn the motor using the key and hear it crank. it was kinda sweet sounding hearing it after all this work even though I havent actually fired it up yet.

sorry about all the spelling mistakes I been up all night lol

Hey guys and tc50,been away for the winter months as i was drivin the 91sc,held up very well for 500 bucks, hehe.
Pulled out the TC from winter storage last month and have been on the board here and there, seen this thread and figured i'd post.
Have been on all of the stang sites for the past few months acumulating parts for my vortech SQ-trim and the near 500hp i should have in the TC this year,woo-hoo(sorry can't contain myself).
Still trying to figure out after spending like 6000.00 on my eng project weather or not my fairly stock aod(pa valvebody and 2200 stall convertor)will even hold up after i drive it like i stole it.
O well guess i'll find out in the next month or so when i get it all together.
For now though,tc50 i remember you used to have your times posted in your sig,if i remember you where running pretty much what i've got for eng mods less the vortech, and a 90shot.
What were those 1/4 times again and do you know the full weight of your tc with you in it and a 1/4 tank of juice????
Curious is all,as i think with the 3900lbs my TC weighs and 500 crank hp,i sould be able to hit 12s if i ever get traction lmao!!

You using the std serpintine belt setup??? Generally with air, the compressor is the highest accessory point...

Best was 12.23@112... 90 shot... I had a 150shot on it for a little while. It was wild, the Nittos couldn't handle it... With traction it would have gone 11.75 for sure(maybe better). Fellow I got the Nitrous kit from went 11.64@114 in a 5.0 Sport Tbird with a similar setup to ours...

With me (200), working AC, dual power seats etc. and 3/4 tank of gas mine weighs in the 3775 range...

Yeah the standard one belt setup the motor actually had 2 of those on it when I got it. It looked like a V belt setup that used serpentines. Actually an update on this Im not sure its exactly where its supposed to be but I got the motor hooked down close enough to where its supposed to be that I think it should work.I got between a half to an inch of room between the top of the compressor and the bottom of the hood. I finally quite playing with it and kept at it until I got it bolted in. We also got all the accessories as well as the cooling system most of the way done. I hook up the electric fan and the cooling systems done.
The main things left are wiring, fuel lines,  exhaust, and shifting linkage. After that its pretty much just fine tuning it to make it run right.

The two belt system is used on the full size cars... Compressor is on the passenger side and alt is driver side, just opposite of the Stangs, Birds, LSC... BTW they use a clockwise rotation water pump instead of the CCW like ours...

Yeah I figured as much on the pump. I already swapped the timing cover and pump, as well as the brackets to put everything on the right sides. I think the motor originally came out of an LTD or such, so that would explain it I think.
I'm also half a step closer to being done, I got the driver side of the exhaust fabbed up and installed, now I'm working on the passenger side, which should be done by morning at the latest, unless by some unfortunate event I run into another snag. I'm going back out in a little while, I'm going to finish the exhaust, and hook up the fuel lines. If it's not morning by the time I'm done, I'll probably start messing with the wiring and see what I can accomplish with it.

Fuel lines and exhaust is DONE. It's probably going to be one of the loudest tbirds around but it should be street legal barely and get the job done. Now I just got the shifting linkage  a couple brackets and wiring and it'll be ready to try and fire it.

Well now that I know a meeting is being set up. You might give me a week or two. I gotta pull the Cougar out of the garage. I'm working 2 jobs, so definetly the heater core is being replaced and by someone else. Kind of a mistake to have my subs put in the Escape, takes away from money. Let me know whats up. Graham, your money is coming, im dumb *it*. Get that 5.0 in there. I got some tips for the 86, but she still isnt running, spark plugs arent in yet. I'm lazy.

ok update I took the wiring harness out. i started making a new one for it that fits the car instead of making the one work. Basically after I untangle the knot I ended up with for a wiring harness and get it put back in the car it SHOULD be ready to try and fire. After that  brackets shifting linkage final adjustments installing my air cleaner and putting the hood back on is all thats left.
