There's always cremation....

Sorry you are having problems, but this is a classic case of how NOT to swap to a different engine size... IMHO the wiring issues should be addressed BEFORE the engine is actually in the car...

Yeah it would probably be easier to work with everything without everything in the car. To anyone on future swaps get a harness made for the car its a pain trying to make something else work that wasnt made for it. Im working on an idea right now that looks like it might work. Not sure yet though. I think it might be possible to mod a 3.8 harness to work I just have to add a bunch of stuff and swap some pins suprisingly enough most of the pins that are there are in the right spot most of the connectors are different and the injector connectors are way off but I THINK I

Well its not quite to putting on the Ritz state yet its still at faint heartbeat stage. it did start and run though until the shop filled with exhaust and I had to shut it off. Good thing though because after about 4 seconds we realized in our overnight wiring work we forgot to put water in the radiator. Just ran it long enough to hear it rumble, gotta love glass packs. :headbang: If all goes well I'll have pics in a couple days of my car with a V8 under the hood.

the 3.8 harness and computer is bank fire,,,,,,,,, including the 88 for those of you who only thought it was multiport sefi.

the 5.0 sefi fires each injector as needed.  I hope you did not wire it up as bank fire.

yeah you have to add an injector feed for 6 more injectors on a V8 but it can be done its a PITA though. I dont recommend it withough knowing what youre doing.
And no I didnt wire it as a bank fire its wired exactly how an 88 SEFI is supposed to be wired. actually though the feeds for the injectors on the bank fire setup as  injector 1 and 2 on the SEFI setup as well

That ain't possible on a 5.0 to '87-'88TC engine swap... Their wiring is TOTALLY different than anything out there, this was my reason to rewire it first before the engine install...

well there goes that idea. I did finally get to test drive the car tonight the trannys not shifting right when you let off or when it shifts up its shifting at to low of an rpm and causing it to jerk Im guessing my kickdown cable needs adjusted.

Looking good!!  have you tried adjusting your TV cable?  that should be where your shifting problem is.

actually I found I have a hole in my tranny case. Im thinking the problem may be that it isnt pressurising correctly. I rigged it long enough I can get back to my other one as soon as I get the gas to make it there
