The 'Mont Reply #2 – January 22, 2006, 06:59:58 PM Notice that lack of A/C vent to the right of the speedometer - this car was ultra stripped. Engine, tranny and rear end. Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #3 – January 22, 2006, 07:02:45 PM And last, the engine bay and a sweet shot of the carnage from the 2.3 that was in it when I bought it. Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #4 – January 22, 2006, 07:03:30 PM Looks a little weathered but atleast the body is solid, thats what mattersQuote from: 302FairmontAnd last, the engine bay and a sweet shot of the carnage from the 2.3 that was in it when I bought it.A lil JB Weld will fix that Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #5 – January 22, 2006, 07:09:32 PM Hey - thats called patina (so I'm told by magazines) and some people try to get that effect Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #6 – January 22, 2006, 07:32:18 PM Oh that's sweet, got a lot of potential for a sleeper there. I love the dog dish wheels too. :)BTW, if you dump the 2.73s in your F150 for a set of 3.55s you'll change your tune about the I-6. Makes a huge difference with very little change in fuel economy, especially when towing. 3.55s make it into a real good tow vehicle. Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #7 – January 22, 2006, 07:42:13 PM I would so drive that! You gota keep those wheels when you fix it all up! Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #8 – January 22, 2006, 07:46:56 PM Yeah the dog dish hubcaps make it. 3.55's for the truck has been on the agenda since i've had it, and actually, the guy I bought the fairmont from has a set plus a Trac-Loc that he's going to help me put into it as soon as I get some extra money. Its just not a priority right now though, I'd rather put it towards getting the 'Mont running. I havent towed any trailers - but I have dragged a loaded E-Van & 87 stang around a friends yard, and loaded the bed with 700+ pounds of engine and tranny multiple times and havent burned up the original clutch yet. Its just slow. But I still wouldnt trade it for a 5.0:slap: Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #9 – January 22, 2006, 07:58:58 PM I like it. I like it a lot. Was it a 4-speed car, or an automatic? Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #10 – January 22, 2006, 08:07:47 PM Yeah, "German" 4 speed, non overdrive. So I already gots the pedals & clutch cable for my T5Did anyone notice it doesnt even have power brakes? Trying to stop is sure going to be fun! The car is a hit, man. All my friends love it - even super douchey 460 '87 Mustang and 5.0 Ranger like it - and they think everything is gay!I basically think its the coolest car I've even seen. I mean, give or take, when I have the V8 in it and running, its going to be the sweetest car on the road, bar none. Thanks guys! Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #11 – January 22, 2006, 09:06:41 PM That car makes me wet.I have an '83 Futura, brown, no options (manual locks, windows, brakes, steering, no a/c, radio delete, seats dont recline), 2.3 4spd. I'm saving it for a cheap 5.0 build or a turbo 2.3. I just wish it was a sedan, those are my favorite! Quote Selected

The 'Mont Reply #13 – January 22, 2006, 10:27:04 PM looks like a sleeper in the making Quote Selected
The 'Mont Reply #14 – January 23, 2006, 12:24:50 AM I've got an extra 2.3 turbo/5-speed that would look SOOOO good in that car :D Gotta find me a 'mont Quote Selected
