Re: My new car Reply #1 – July 06, 2005, 05:17:15 AM If it's clicking, that means there is not enough juice to start it up. No clicking, is out of my knowledge.I'm guessing the battery is long dead. To be sure, you can bring it to a garage and they'll test it for free. You then should know if it's either the battery or the alternator, and possibly if is the starter. (Bad battery = need a new one, charged battery = possibly the starter?, good but discharged battery = alternator) Quote Selected

Re: My new car Reply #3 – July 06, 2005, 07:05:24 PM hey everyonei talked to the person i bought the car and heres what he told me...tap the starter with a wrench! he said the starter started to act funny right after the 30 day warrenty was up...so he has to tap it with a wrench for it to work... but it starts right up after... it seems fine and i think it'll work till i get another one... but thats screwed up! lolim spray painting it black this weekend and dying the interior black also... it had no shift so i drilled out a golf ball... thats the highlight of the car... my friend is wiring a stereo in it next week so yay... Re: My new car Reply #4 – July 06, 2005, 07:06:29 PM its the starter solonoid. You should be able to change them out with a new starter. On ford cars they are seperate. Quote Selected
Re: My new car Reply #5 – July 06, 2005, 10:41:53 PM If you hit the starter and not the selenoid, its the starter.... probably the Bendix stick or something... starter must be the problem... Quote Selected

Re: My new car Reply #7 – July 07, 2005, 09:40:48 AM i have had a few starters (or selenoids) that needed the large screw driver technique... one was a 80 f150, fun stuff. Quote Selected
