Sons first day of having licinse Reply #1 – March 21, 2012, 06:36:03 AM what is it with these cars and the front end!!!! 2 of mine have been hit or hit something (before i owned them).. 1 of BJL's cars was clipped in the front.. geez..she's not gone though, she could be fixed.. looks like she may need a new k-member from the way the wheel hit the pole.. but this is why i am fully against parents giving, buying or letting their son/daughter buy a nice car for their first.. they almost anyways get wrecked.. poor bird :( Quote Selected

Sons first day of having licinse Reply #3 – March 21, 2012, 08:42:15 AM That sucks! I agree with Shadow. My kids 1st vehicle will be a POS. My parents made all of us drive a '81 Olds Ninety Eight for a year until we proved ourself and got our 1st real car. If you would have hit that pole with the Olds, it would have just plowed it over and kept going...that thing was indestructible. Quote Selected
Sons first day of having licinse Reply #4 – March 21, 2012, 08:47:46 AM My first was a 79 cougar and I still have it. Sorry about your bird, she was beautiful. I agree that it could probably be fixed. Quote Selected
Sons first day of having licinse Reply #5 – March 21, 2012, 08:51:03 AM Wow. That sucks. By the look of that pole, he hit it hard. Was speed (excessive) an issue? So can we assume this is now a parts car? Quote Selected
Sons first day of having licinse Reply #6 – March 21, 2012, 08:54:02 AM You know, better yet... make your son get a job to pay for the repairs and have him help do the repairs as punishment. I would hate to see that thing die Quote Selected
Sons first day of having licinse Reply #7 – March 21, 2012, 09:07:48 AM I agree that is a nice looking car. I really like the flat black hood treatment. It goes nicely with the color of the car. Quote Selected
Sons first day of having licinse Reply #8 – March 21, 2012, 09:16:32 AM He kept beggin me for the last month to drive MY car to school the first day he gets his licinse, I kept saying I don't think so but when he got them on Monday I could see how excited he was. His car(86 mustang) that he/we have been building just got inspected and we havent had the time to really take it out to see how well it would do, so ........I gave in and let him take mine, I laid down the rules and he keeps telling me that he obeyed them and when he turned the corner he hit some gravel and then he tried what he could to gain control but the pole got in his way!! I wish ya"ll could see how he was when he called me to tell me and My wife and I went to the seen, he wasn't even worried about himself, he was SOOOOOOOO upset about what he had just done to my Pride and Joy....Just balling and all I could do was give him a hug and said that I am just glad that he was OK. Sons first day of having licinse Reply #10 – March 21, 2012, 09:21:06 AM I crashed my T-bird when I was younger...the car was fixable but my pride was hurt more than anything. It taught me to slow down and pay attention. I am sure he has learned a lot from this experience and will be a better driver because of it! Quote Selected
Sons first day of having licinse Reply #11 – March 21, 2012, 09:39:03 AM don't know if you guys have the cinderella license down there or not, but here in jersey, he would have lost his license for that.. glad he's ok, but the poor car :( Quote Selected
Sons first day of having licinse Reply #12 – March 21, 2012, 10:08:00 AM Lucky kid.... my old man would've been just short of killing me for that and I'd have walked everywhere until I saved up enough for another car. He would've been driving mine. Quote Selected
