looks good jeremy. I finally got the cougar highway worthy again so maybe we should meet up sometime this summer when we've both got some time and I can actually bring it down this time.


Anyway here's what I'm looking like..... I guess I tried to get artistic or something but I haven't got some good pics in a while so......

How I spent the Easter weekend. The Cougar was running pretty bad, and I knew the timing chain was pretty loose, and I could hear it rub on the cover sometimes so I dove into it at noon on Saturday, and didn't get it back together until 10:30 that night. It had the nylon coated timing gear that was cracking and falling apart. How long did Ford use those? I didn't know they were still using them in 1986. What a dumbass design.

Anyhow, I fired it up, and it was running worse than ever. It wouldn't even idle. It was acting like it had a massive vacuum leak, but I couldn't spot one anywhere. The next day I spent about 3 hours chasing down the problem, and finally narrowed it down to either the ignition module or the MAP sensor. Well, it turned out to be the MAP sensor. After I put a new one on, it seems to be running just fine thankfully.
