Well as luck may have it soon as taxes come back i will be the owner of an 88 lx, again. I bought it back in 08 for a buddy. Well ts changed hands a few times within the friend circle and family too. Its a little rough but runs the real downfall is the tranny is on its way out. Picking it up cheap as a budget sleeper for the fiance ad i to play around with. If you look back a few pages its in here somewhere. We rebuilt the engine a year or so ago. Plans for this one is ho 8.8 bigger brakes and make it look decent. Im saving another one lol

Just finish yours, at least so its on the road. my 87 needs a twin.

Just throw a t-5 at it. I can't believe how much better it made my car. trying to kill the aod in my cougar.right now so I have an excuse to do it.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Clayton, do you everything for a T-5 swap? other than the trans...... Text my phone with what you might need. I have pretty much everything but the trans.

Its home. The tranny isnt completely toast, it demoted itself to a c6 so no overdrive. But shes pretty clean still. She has some rust but nothing that cant be fixed easily. Thanks to john all i have to hunt down is a t5. Then its time to hunt for some gt40 heads, ho cam, maf, and then install all the other goodies i already have then i have a semi stout bird to tide me over til mine is drivable.

Its a smoke gray lx with a full red tc interior, auto lamps and thats about it.

Nice man.

Check out local ads for blown v-6 stangs and the corall. I used a 03 trans in my bird and other then speedo, its been awesome. if you swap a tail shaft off of any 80-98 trans you can use the stock vss with it if you clearance the 5th gear shaft. I plan on doing this sometime this summer.

I almost forgot, if you were to drill out the bellhousing, you could use a stock 10.5 clutch and flywheel instead of the 11" junk I used.

Fiddled with her a little today amongst cleaning out the garage. Mounted the scoop for good and got the headlights in so she could see some. just screwing around, aside from me re-thinking my fuel delivery system. There might be some changes coming sometime
Enjoy

Well i scored some goodies for the 88 today. I hit up my favorite junkyard for parts for my blow-tie dailydriver and stumbled upon a 88 TC sans motor trans hood and diff. Everything else was still intact so the most desirable parts made their way back to the house. Header panel and all the front lights, the bumper cover and reinforcement, steering wheel with a perfect horn button, the pull strap covers, tail lights, floodlamp trim ect. All in which will find its home on either the 87 or 88. The only tastic part is that some jackhole peppered the front lights with red paint. Luckily it comes off relatively easy with mineral spirits and a shop rag, gonna take a buttload of rubbing and sanding and buffing to make them perfect. On a better note the headlights on the 88 are almost crystal clear. The outers and TC inners need a whole lotta love though.

Thats my update for now.
