Re: New Daily Driver (non-Ford) *Flame Suit* Reply #2 – May 13, 2005, 10:44:12 PM You should do some minor upgrades to that thing. I know it's just a daily driver, but hopping it up is very cheap and makes it a little more fun to drive. Check out neons.org for some cheap mods. Watch the tranny, though. I went through 2 of them in my 95 before I sold it. Quote Selected

Re: New Daily Driver (non-Ford) *Flame Suit* Reply #5 – May 15, 2005, 12:51:39 AM Chuck - Yes, I still have the TC in my posession, been working overtime, havne't had time to tear it apart yet but I'll get on it.Andrew - SXT is just an apperance/convenience package I think. Same motor and everything, just usually includes aluminum wheels, spoiler (REEN REEEEEN!) and CD, stuff like that.amooset - Did you have a 5-speed and still had problems with it? If so, then I'll be extra careful with it and make sure to check and change the fluid when the manual calls for it. Also, there's 10 years difference there... perhaps they've fixed some stuff and refined it some. (I hope). Quote Selected
Re: New Daily Driver (non-Ford) *Flame Suit* Reply #6 – May 15, 2005, 01:29:02 PM Nice car man, glad you got a new ride. Word of advise, respect the 5000 mile(bare minimum) break in before gettin on it or you'll be looking at some bad luck in the future. Im sure you know that already but I am jus lookin out for the ride man :D Quote Selected

Re: New Daily Driver (non-Ford) *Flame Suit* Reply #9 – May 16, 2005, 02:13:57 AM Not for a long, long time. If I'm paying for this car for the next five years, I'm not going to do anything to void the warranty. Even so, there IS actually a turbo kit available for the y little SOHC engine, believe it or not. Quote Selected

I have heard about problems in those (manuals) as well, but most of those were factory blunders that were covered under warranty. Quote Selected

The Neon is Diamler-Chrysler's answer to the sport compacts coming from other companies and the SRT-4 is quite the capable little machine. They are much better looking cars than what they were 10 years ago. My buddy has a 95 Neon in that weird red color. I hate that car. It's a pain to work on. Hopefully, yours is much more maintenence friendly. Looks much better at the very least. Quote Selected
