O.K.,someone break this number down.... Reply #6 – December 04, 2010, 08:29:45 AM So,mine would be 1673rd built ? That's just Thunderbirds in general,not just Sports,correct? Quote Selected
O.K.,someone break this number down.... Reply #7 – December 04, 2010, 08:47:25 AM It is the 1674th T-Bird(any model) assigned a VIN at the Lorain plant... It could be the 1589th, 1603rd, 1735th built or any number reasonably near 1674... At the very least it's a first week of production vehicle...IF there were other assembly plants building T-Birds in '88, it would be possible to have two vehicles with same VIN excepting for assembly plant code(H)... Through '85 Atlanta also built T-Birds so there were two in '85 with 101674 as the consecutive VIN, but the ATL car would have have "A" for plant code...My white one has a consec of 228955 while my red one is 228385, but the red one was built later than the white...IF you still have the buck tag on the radiator support it will have the approx day of build... Mine has 0606(June 6th), but from the Autocheck and Ford's OASIS report it was built June 7... Quote Selected
O.K.,someone break this number down.... Reply #8 – December 04, 2010, 08:50:33 AM here's my production # for my 87 Cougar. 710693 You would think that you'd see a lot more of these things still driving around for numbers that high.Built in Lorain, Ohio... Anyone surprised?..lol Quote Selected

O.K.,someone break this number down.... Reply #10 – December 04, 2010, 09:07:04 AM I'm not surprised. I think these cars are mostly considered "just an old car" by most. I personally just can't drive anything else.Perfect car for me.Tom, my buck tag is long gone, but, I sent off for the info from Ford months ago and I remember the date of birth to be in August.I have the paper with my title.I'll check later.
