ok guys i have an 87 with a v6 thats im puting a v8 out of an 88. the other day i seen that the harness that come out the fire wall on the driverside of the v6 87 have diff plugs and number and color of wires than my 88 v8 car doses. so what i need to know if any one can help is what do i need to go to make it work for me. i realy dont want to pull out the whole dash and switch the wireing to the v8 88 wireing.

You'll either have to find an '87 engine harness, OR,
match everything to the '88 harnesses, OR,
get an EVTM and get real skilled in the art of repinning connectors and wires..

It's going to be easier and less time-consuming swapping harnesses and computers than re-pinning.

I might know where one, and maybe even 2 '87 5.0 harnesses are...I just have to go ask if I can look at the cars to see if they are truly '87's, and what shape the engine wiring is in. I need some other small pieces for something of mine, so maybe I can get out there before work one day this week and see. Not sure if they let folks wander around anymore...

Dash doesn't need to come out to get the puter harness out.  The hardest part is the PCM Relay.  Once that is loose, fish it out from the engine side.  I did mine both ways this way (in and out) and my car has the dreaded climate control.
My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.
