Ok.  Repinning the connector will be a major pita with the harness in the car.  It really wasn't all that hard.  I have an EVTM somewhere and Jrcassity has scans of his somewhere.

See if you can PM him.
My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.

I have that black plug on my '87 harness that's in my Turbo Coupe, had to rebuild the female connector and wire it into the body harness... It should have a green/red wire in it that feeds power to the EEC relay, F/P relay, coil etc... Power to that one connection is all that's necessary to run the engine, of course this assumes the fuel pump harness is still connected to the EEC harness...

I've seen the gray plug in the '88 cars, maybe the late '87 had the same setup???

Ya as my 88 that I took the motor out of both plugs look like the gray one. But the 87 the black is not the same. So I need one for an 87 or need to know what colors go to what so I can wire the 88 harness to the 87s mane harness

did you find out if they were 87s?

I might know where one, and maybe even 2 '87 5.0 harnesses are...I just have to go ask if I can look at the cars to see if they are truly '87's, and what shape the engine wiring is in. I need some other small pieces for something of mine, so maybe I can get out there before work one day this week and see. Not sure if they let folks wander around anymore...

Check the fuses really close. I had the same issues, but because I had a grounded harness. I had installed a fastener into the body and it went through a wire and grounded it to the body, which caused blown fuses. After I figured out what I did with a little help from a friend here (Thanks Jerry), I fixed the problem, everything works, and no issues. Report back what you find. One way or another, we'll all get your problem figured out.
