Here is the tips I just put on my car. It has mustang tail pipes and I welded these tips on to make up the difference. They are a little bigger than I wanted but for free I couldn't pass them up.

I always liked the twin single tip on the earlier cars.

When it was time to redo the exhaust, I couldn't find anything I was happy with in the proper sizing that didn't look dumpster, so I settled on the single 3.5" polished I have now.

Here are mine.  I have a Pypes Violator Fox mustang catback kit and lengthened the tailpipes by slipping stainless 3" tips over the pypes tailpipes.  I always liked the original turndowns (I was real close to putting turn downs back on it) so I had the exhaust shop guy angle these down to kinda give it a "downswept" look and keep hot exhaust from messing up the paint on my bumper.

I currently have open headers, and before that I had a glasspack dump right before the axle, but just for kicks, here's what it looked like when I first got the car. Just a 3" tip on the stock tail.

these are the only two pics I have of it then.

thats my wife back there making it look like shes having the most boring day ever

I try to keep everything in proportion. Meaning, I want everything to fit like it belongs. Not to look like an after thought. I may not always succeed, but I put a a lot of thought into any parts I add on. It has to look "right". Blend in,as not to be a distraction from the rest of the car.
