So this goes in the empty cubby slot above the radio? got a picture of it installed with a cup in it? lol I think I want this.

It wont fit above the radio without doing some modification to the a/c duct work

ask me how I know :(

How do you know? lol Isn't the duct work above the empty cubby hole?

Its kinda above...... but where it starts to slope down to connect to the heater box it is not far enough back to fit the slide out trays .
I have one of these trays on a shelf in my garage that I was hoping to use.
If you don't have EATC you can modify the stack and put it in the bottom slot though :D

Hmm... My bottom slot have my HVAC controts. I would have to transfer the radio up one, the HVAC up one and this in the bottom... It might work. Why would the slide out trays be the problem, they are contained. Why would this connect to the heater box?

The whole assembly is too deep to fit in the top slot......  and sorry I wasn't clear , where the duct work slopes to meet the heater box  is not far enough back for this tray to work . I think Daminc has done this mod on his convertible  .  I know i have seen pics of it somewhere  . anyway ...bottom line is it will not fit in the top slot :D

you pretty much need the same room as the radio needs to make it fit. you would need to move the heater controls to the top space.

That's where I remember the suggested location should be in the bottom slot. I forgot what location actually had the cubby because I get all confused with all the different positions I see people use. Anyway what is shown here is the best ergonomic arrangement all around with HVAC controls, then radio, then cupholder.

I feel a little silly now offering this cupholder for sale since they are a dime a dozen on numerous Ford Taruses and Mercury Sables. However I hate to discard it if someone wants it.

Would this fit with the floor shifter and console  car? I want a cup holder, I just don't want to be able to use it.

I suppose it would work... might hit if the car is in park. if someone could measure the distance between the shifter and dash, I could measure the extended position of the cup holder from the dash outward. I'm putting a full console in the vert myself, but not the floor shifter.

What? You want a cup holder you don't wanna use???:rollin:

I would say it would be functional only if the shifter was in gear.

Sorry I made a typo. I meant I don't want to buy it and then not be able to use it. lol

Would I have to remove part of the dash to swap the heater controls? Is this a hard modification? I would only want to be able to use the cupholder when I'm driving.

And daminc, if you could get those measurements that would be awesome. I have a full console and floor shifter, I can measure the space, :)

I just measured from the lower section, back to my floor shifter in park.  It was 3.25 inches approx.

The cup holder extends out 5" from the dash.
