I never trusted them... I have real gauges in my car for that stuff along with the stock sensors

$450 from now I will be doing the same thing

Ok so I got a new sender for my temp and oil, threw the temp sender on and now it works, but its showing a lot higher than I like.... My old cluster/sender was showing me just to the start of the norm mark, just past C. This one is showing about 3/4 the way up once fully warmed up... is the new one just more sensitive, or was my old one bad? Idk.. btw the new sender has a red ring at the top, not a white one like my orignal, or a black one like some of the replacements I've seen.

I also got some TC swaybars today, got the front all painted up. Had to order the main bushings for the front since no one carries 1 5/16 bushings in poly....:(

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't the stock OP gauge kind of a "dummy" gauge? I *think* it just senses for pressure, and as long as it senses some kind of pressure the needle on the gauge will move to around the same spot everytime. I know it's like that on the mn-12's, not sure about the Fox's. The new sensor may read different from the old and another new sensor  would read different than both.

don't believe so.. the original motor in my rusty, twisted pos cougar lost oil pressure and it showed the decrease on the stock gauge that pretty much matched the sunpro gauge on the pillar

Yeah I agree cause mine does fluctuate when the motor gets hotter. What i'm wondering is if I have the correct sender, or if I need to install that giant golliath behemoth of a sender that I ordered...

I ordered this one:

I have this one:

The strange thing is that the little one works, I'm just not sure if works correctly. I think it might be inverted. I hope i don't have to install the giant one, I don't think I have room for it. I will have to tilt it in order to not hit my PS bracket coming off the head.

For Oil: The big one is an actual "variable" sender, and the little one just senses a certain amount and calls it good. For example, I have a large sender for my Stewart Warner gauge and it senses from 0-125 P.S.I. I have a small one for my fuel pump switch, and once it hits 7 P.S.I It's good.

Well taking that into consideration, then here's a question.. Why does my gauge fluctuate when using the small sender??

Something to do with small variances in electrical conductivity? if S/W and Autometer could use small senders, don't you think they would?

Also, I would like to clarify "Fuel pump switch". When the oil pressure hits 7 PSI, it turns the fuel pump on, and it continues to run until the engine drops below 7PSI, at which point it turns off.
