goin to the dark side, (kinda)

well guys, i bought a mustang. yea some say, the dark side. but don't worry. I'm still keeping the thunderbird, infact shes still staying on the road.  consuela's gonna be my more gas efficient of the two haha.

I picked up this 1983 mustang gt, 302 5 speed for $4500.

shes got a 302, stock bottom end. 289 heads, edelbrock intake, holley 650 carb. 10 to 1 compression.

dont really know why it has 289 heads. but she sounds pretty mean.

dont blame me! haha. shes litterallly got no options other then a sunroof. but its super clean. 49000 miles.

The 289 had a smaller combustion chamber and this is how they got the compression up.  But I do doubt it is really 10 to one.  But it does not really matter since you like it just the way it is.

Nice looking car!  Don't see many with the slapper bars still in place.

The 10 holes look great on that year (they weren't available til '85), TRX wheels were the rage in 83.

First year of the 4bl carb and T-5 too.  Factory rated at 185 HP!

They were considered mighty hot when they came out.:burnout:

Hey, that's fine, my mistake, it looks like a pretty clean car, good find!

I wonder what the weight savings is on a no-option car??
