Weighed my TC Reply #1 – August 14, 2009, 10:15:00 AM Now that is odd, because, I weighed mine the other day at a truck scale, and it said I weighed 2550 w/ AC, an automatic, full interior, and subs. I mean, I took out the underhood liner, but I'm sure it didn't weigh 1000Lbs :) Granted, the Spare tire I took out might have... Quote Selected
Weighed my TC Reply #2 – August 14, 2009, 10:25:32 AM 2550 surely isn't correct, a 4cyl notch Stang weighs more than that...Mine weighed 3760 with me(200), 3/4 tank and probably 40lbs of tools, spare and jack... Quote Selected
Weighed my TC Reply #3 – August 14, 2009, 12:02:52 PM I weighed the cougar years back empty and it was about 4500. but thats a 79 Quote Selected
Weighed my TC Reply #4 – August 14, 2009, 12:28:53 PM I weighed a 92 Grand Marquis with me in it and it was 4000lbs. Quote Selected
Weighed my TC Reply #5 – August 14, 2009, 01:11:34 PM At the town dump scale, 5 gallons of gas (so 40 lbs there), me, (135), nothing in trunk....3680. Quote Selected
Weighed my TC Reply #6 – August 14, 2009, 08:14:43 PM Hmm, I knew it was too good to be true! I guess I'll have to run it across a couple other scales to verify. Quote Selected
Weighed my TC Reply #7 – August 14, 2009, 09:08:37 PM I must take the T-Bird to the local dump and weigh it some time. It should be a relative lightweight (base model, no power seats). I lightened it by swapping the T5 in but added weight by installing the 8.8 and subframe connectors (but overall weight distribution probably got better, as the weight bisas should have shifted rearward). Weighed my TC Reply #8 – August 14, 2009, 11:53:45 PM I'd take my DD to the syard to weigh it, but my buddy told me they'd never let me take it home. They'd take one look at it, fork it up onto the s pile and it would be gone. lol. Quote Selected
Weighed my TC Reply #9 – August 15, 2009, 12:05:22 AM I dont remember what my dads old 83 Tc weighed when he sped it, but it was stripped to the bone. No driveline, front end yanked (k-member and suspension), and it had a power nothing interior that I so wish I woulda kept... Quote Selected
Weighed my TC Reply #10 – August 15, 2009, 01:24:29 AM Well, according to my "T-Bird, 45 Years of Thunder" Book, the curb weight of the 1983 Thunderbird was 3169Lbs, and the 1/4 Mile ET (V6) was 19 Sec at 72.9MPH....As a side note, the Promo Pic of the 1983 Ford lineup shows a cougar with TRX rims on it.
