Weighed my TC

At a truck scale in WV, supposed to be accurate to within 20 lbs.

With Me (145lbs), gf (100lbs) and full tank of gas (140lbs?) spare tire and jack, and minimal other .

3600lbs flat

Ive got the AC gutted under the hood and thats about it I think, weights on the tranny and rear end are gone.... some rust on the body.

Now that is odd, because, I weighed mine the other day at a truck scale, and it said I weighed 2550 w/ AC, an automatic, full interior, and subs. I mean, I took out the underhood liner, but I'm sure it didn't weigh 1000Lbs  :)  Granted, the Spare tire I took out might have...

2550 surely isn't correct, a 4cyl notch Stang weighs more than that...

Mine weighed 3760 with me(200), 3/4 tank and probably 40lbs of tools, spare and jack...

I weighed a 92 Grand Marquis with me in it and it was 4000lbs.

BTW, I had a 1988 T-Bird Sport way back when. I found out that it was totalled shortly after trading it in. It still has the ignition switch recall to date.

Special thanx to EricCoolCats for showing me to this site.

At the town dump scale, 5 gallons of gas (so 40 lbs there), me, (135), nothing in trunk....3680.

Hmm, I knew it was too good to be true! I guess I'll have to run it across a couple other scales to verify.

I must take the T-Bird to the local dump and weigh it some time. It should be a relative lightweight (base model, no power seats). I lightened it by swapping the T5 in but added weight by installing the 8.8 and subframe connectors (but overall weight distribution probably got better, as the weight bisas should have shifted rearward).

I'd take my DD to the syard to weigh it, but my buddy told me they'd never let me take it home. They'd take one look at it, fork it up onto the s pile and it would be gone. lol.

I dont remember what my dads old 83 Tc weighed when he sped it, but it was stripped to the bone. No driveline, front end yanked (k-member and suspension), and it had a power nothing interior that I so wish I woulda kept...

Well, according to my "T-Bird, 45 Years of Thunder" Book, the curb weight of the 1983 Thunderbird was 3169Lbs, and the 1/4 Mile ET (V6) was 19 Sec at 72.9MPH....

As a side note, the Promo Pic of the 1983 Ford lineup shows a cougar with TRX rims on it.

I believe PRC and ABS were mandatory on 87-88 TC's

Correcto ;)

And would anyone hazard a guess roughly what a iron headed 5.0 Sport would weigh, after a fair bit of weight reduction?

ALL the sound deadener inside, rear seat, ALL A.C. stuff, spare, trunk carpet, removed all the stereo equipment.
Car has/will have T5/8.8/TC brakes and suspension/wheels...
Just looking for a baseline number...don't even have a goal, just seeing if anyone has done the same and wondering what their car weighed out at...

I suppose I could've weighed it as I pulled it out, but that would've been too fun lol
