1983 Thunderbird Heritage - 03.03.10 New parts!

Well I finally got back into a fox, I sold my old rusted out Altima.
Car has a 302, so I stay true to my user name. I just got it 2 hours ago so my plans for this week are put my Pioneer deck in it, bolt the 10 holes on, and wax the shiznit out of it. It only has 122KM, a couple of rust bubbles and a small dent on the hood and some scratches, an old lady bought it new so the thing is loaded.

Pics tomorrow, my internets is acting slow and I have to go to work in a few hours.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Hey guys sorry about the wait. Gave the car a good wax, gonna apply another coat tomorrow, and I took the mud flaps off and I'm considering selling them as they're almost brand new.

Anyway enough talk:

I'll clean the interior tomorrow and post some pics.

You know if that car was driven daily I bet it was the mud flaps that saved it from the salt ;)

What a nice looking car. Never was a fan of mud flaps but they sure saved that car. My 80 had them also and it has zero rust issues. My son has a 83 Heritage also, do you have any interior pics?

Thanks for the comments.

I'm gonna go clean the interior right now so I'll get some pics after I'm done that. And yes that is the block heater cord. It gets to -45 Celsius in winter here so it's needed.

Oh and I'll make sure to get some engine pics.

Interior pics:

No cracks in dash pad! My Cougar doesn't have any either.

Loaded to the gills.

Pioneer deck will be in Friday.

Interior needs a good shampooing.

But I have a question, tonight after a short cruise the car started to sputter when you came to a stop, it would get so bad that it stalled twice. So me and my buddy took a look under the hood and theres no vacuum line going to the EGR valve, and theres a gas leak on the right side of the carb. Should I get it rebuilt or just buy a 4 barrel?

Car is in AMAZING shape from what the pics show.

Get that thing re sealed and undercoated ASAP! There are 2 guys around here trying to sell theirs (one Elan, other Heritage) in same or better condition for around 3500-4000.

I wonder what 83-84 door panels would look like with an 85-88 dash...
