Pull the driver side kick panel off, locate where you want the pedal and hold the kick panel over it so you can get the pedal where you want it without having to trim the kick panel.Once you figure out where you want it,drill two holes and use some self tapping bolts (giant screws?) to hold it on.re-install the kick panel.....done.Takes about 10 minutes or so......

This was taken during the 5 speed pedal installation......I'll have the new Steeda pedal covers on next week...

Vinnie, is that pedal from a Mustang?  Do you have any trouble with the parking brake?

The dead pedal IS from a Fox Stang, and there are zero issues with the parking brake.Install that thing and call it good.I drilled the holes probably a little smaller than I should have for the two bolts, but, the bolts went in wicked tight, and it's (the pedal) on there solid.

It's just a left foot rest. Saves the carpeting from getting scuffed up in that area. Even with the e-brake pedal being in that area, it still doesn't interfere with anything. Nice to have. Standard equipment on the Mustang, we got the shaft, therefore we must upgrade.

I plan on doing this mod if I get the XR7 that I have in mind.

BTW, not all Stangs had this. GTs had them from '87 and up and LX 5.0s from '90 and up.

I put one into my 89 LX 5.0. Got it out of a 90's GT that took a pole on the driver cowl. A friend helped me get what he could. He said "I got it." and hands me the pad. I retreieved the base. It was bent up enough that it took a hammer and a vice to straighten.

BTW, I had a 1988 T-Bird Sport way back when. I found out that it was totalled shortly after trading it in. It still has the ignition switch recall to date.

Special thanx to EricCoolCats for showing me to this site.

My car has a factory dead pedal. It's the one furthest on the right. You  push on it and nothing happens. I'm hoping the HO upgrade will take care of that problem :mullet:

I was not sure if the 4 bangers got them from '90 on up. Thanx for thre info. I just got one from a C4C 97 GT. For some reason, the SN95 Stangs have loose dead pedals.
