Ok ok i admit it (Gaming related) January 29, 2009, 05:15:04 PM The Xbox 360's are . Just last Sunday my second Xbox bricked on me(My Xbox Elite, supposed to fix all the red rings problems), gave me the E-74 code (Cooked Graphical processing Unit). Just received the box to send it back yesterday and when i woke up at 2pm took it to a UPS drop off point. Now i get to wait another few weeks to play it again. I was quite infuriated that I have ran through 2 xboxes in 2 years . So if you are planning on buying a gaming system, as much as i hate to say it avoid the xboxes. Quote Selected

Ok ok i admit it (Gaming related) Reply #2 – January 29, 2009, 06:26:55 PM Haven't had a problem with mine yet (knock on wood) and it's about a year old (Falcon Chip?). I bought a RROD'd 360 from a co-worker (no video - Xenon chip) to practice modding on, took it apart it turns out it already had the X-Clamp mod. So I overheated the GPU only to re-seat the heatsink and put it back together. Initially the GPU performance was spotty, but now it runs flawlessly (of course Lego Star Wars isn't going to tax the GPU much) so I gave it to my son. They seem to be hit or miss. Almost everyone seems to have a problem with their Xbox at one point or another. Which is pretty ridiculous considering the price tag on these bad boys. Quote Selected

The problem with that is my elite has the falcon chipset and the x clamp as far as i know. I have heard about overheating the xbox to reseat the heatsink but would rather send it to Microsoft since the HDMI port stopped producing sound almost 3 or 4 months ago.Quote from: Ether947;254365Which is pretty ridiculous considering the price tag on these bad boys.Indeed. Considering the fact that 2 of these POS's have malfunctioned on me in 2 years i am half tempted to sell it when it comes back, but i like Forza too much. Quote Selected
Ok ok i admit it (Gaming related) Reply #6 – January 29, 2009, 09:10:43 PM Reminds me of when pentium 4's came out. Alot of people went through a motherboard/cpu every couple of months. Quote Selected
Ok ok i admit it (Gaming related) Reply #7 – January 29, 2009, 09:24:45 PM leave it to M$ they rushed the 360's out early to beat sony and they gave the public a py built system. No user upgradable HD, no wifi, paid online, ring of fire, a big powersupply that works like a heater lol.. Sony will catch up to them soon and pass them, people will get really pissed when the extended factory warranty is gone. Wii on the other hand is here to stay. I think these days you need both wii and ps3 and your set. Quote Selected

Ok ok i admit it (Gaming related) Reply #9 – January 30, 2009, 09:02:21 AM The Ps3 has been compared to the Sega Saturn in the fact that sega said screw the Devs learn our programming. That was one of the big down falls of the Saturn. Its not looking good for either company right now Sonys PS3 sales are down by 9% and Microsoft seems to have a large problem on their hands with the RROD.Source for PS3 sales numbersSaturn - PS3 comparison Quote Selected

They are great for shooters and racing games but for fighters not so much. The D-Pad is terrible! Playing Soul Calibur or Street Fighter is almost impossible. Pretty lame when you need to buy a special controller to play those games. Quote Selected

Yes the D pad does suck hard core. Quote Selected
