 yes :D  i just changed the motor and not the plates ,any car guy or gal that hears it will know.just can't tell a book by its cover huh.:birdsmily:

So..you changed the taillights and added the 3rd brake light?

I welcomed the dark side and currently am driving a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT plus, with a 5.9, Code named project "Night Runner"
Shes black on black, fully loaded, with headers, 180 tstat, e fan, straight exhaust into a cherry bomb vortex ler, full tune up, ported intake and T/B, MSD coil, and round aircleaner.
Mods to come: Fully rebuilt and heavily modded 46RE, and a richmond rachet locker.

WOW what a beautiful birdie! Love seein the modern TFI electronic ignition dizzy, along with an old-school carb air cleaner lol. All in Ford Blue too. Awesome.
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...
1988 Black XR7 Trick Flow top end, Tremec 3550
1988 Black XR7 Procharger P600B intercooled, Edelbrock Performer non-RPM heads, GT40 intake AOD, 13 PSI @5000 RPM. 93 octane

no 3rd brake light was factory. didn't like the 83 tail ligths so i put 86 in.

 yes it is. i think they came with vent windows and the other models didn't,is that right or not?

 i detune it somewhat with a smaller cam .but it still holds it own pretty darn good. :birdsmily: i was surpized the weight didn't hurt the handling any. i did use one spring rubber spacer in the front on each side. its my toy mostly as my dd is a 88 mark 7. all on americanmuscleregistry.com  as bad-ve-6  :birdsmily:

you have a mark 7 as well? my mark is gonna be my first car, then have a 351w powered 66 mustang coupe

Nice car.You do good work.I like all of that blue under the hood.

That is what I asked...

I saw it was said to be an '83, but the rear end was '86.  Then I checked the other clues and figured that's what you did.  Not my choice, but whatever works.

Oops! :hick:  Howd'ya know the difference? I think I see a vacuum advance unit there? That it? All I know is the casing and the cap look exactly like mine, and everyone else's 5.0's original one I would imagine.
 
Guess I dont know when they switched over. My cousin's '85 Grand Marquis has TFI..? *heads to coolcats*
