So.....

bored and was wondering what is the highest speeding ticket you have GOTTEN OFF of here?  The cop ripped up his copy and told me to do the same....  it is framed and hanging on my wall.... LOL  I definatly learned my lesson....

Here is a scan of it....  the officers details have been removed to protect him...

he made me follow him to the police station to write me up as he didn't have the proper paperwork on him....

Me and my dad were actually racing, him in his '88 5.0L Thunderbird and me in my '91 5.0L HO Cougar.  I was on the speed limiter when I seen the cop on the side of the road, my dad kept going and got away, I pulled over and stopped because I knew I was already at the fastest that car would go....  Needless to say we both learned our lesson and dont do that shiznit anymore....

The worst ticket I could've had was for 80-something MPH in a 35 zone, but the cop knocked it down to just 10 over. (45mph)
They had already gotten me about 3 times in the previous coupla weeks, so that one was enough to get my license revoked for 30 days. :hick:
I was racing a guy who had some kinda Toyota car, was a turbo job...I was in my Escort GT...I had my front bumper at his rear wheel when the cop(s) lit us up, he ran, and I lifted.
The caught him the next day, and he got one helluva ticket.

Since 1997, when all that happened, I've had 3 tickets, the last being this past October, then one in April 2005, and the first one I got after getting my license reinstated in 1997 was Halloween 1998.

When I was sitting in the trooper's CV this last ticket in October,
he was pulling my info off his computer, 12 traffic convictions to my name...def. not a record I'm proud of.
I was young, stupid, and had a chip on my shoulder. And I got lucky, I never killed anyone, or even came close to having a wreck...so let this be a lesson to all you young guys...luck will only get you so far, stupidity will take you to the edge every time.

Yeah, I've slowed down. A LOT.

Ive had my license since oct 17, and only been pulled over once. I am young and stupid, lucky for me the cop was nice and taught me a lesson, instead of just writing a ticket. He had me for reckless driveing, spining tires and sliding, speeding(50 up a 20), two many people in the car, and my friend jacked the ebrake without me knowing. He followed me for all over it, and it was in a less the 1/4 i did it in. Needless to say, I dont screw around now cause I know I wont get that lucky twice. Plus I was in my moms toyota matrix, which im not insured on... If he wanted to, i could have lost my license on the spot, end of story, but he wanted to teach me and my friends a lesson, which I am grateful for. Gave me a new respect for SOME cops.

My worst was 125 kph in a 60 zone, in the Cougar of course. Butt the best thing about it I was racing to catch up with my friend so my passenger could stick his ass out the window and give him one speedy moon. The cop didn't cite us for indecent exposure.. :shakeass:

Did you have to flash a little leg and age to get out of that one?

my only ticket was for speeding in a construction zone a little more than 6 years ago, luckly it was sunday night(like 3am) and the highway was dead with no traffic at all.
god mustve been whispering into that cops ear because by all accounts i shouldve been locked up for driving that fast but got off with a warning because i told him exactly what i was doing, trying to hit the limiter.
i was clocked going 136mph, that was when i saw him if he wouldve hit me 5 seconds sooner he wouldve got me at 145.
to teach me a lesson he drove me down the highway about 5 miles, maybe more and made me walk back to my car which may or may not be there because of the tow trucks(incentive:hick: )
lesson learned is all i got to say:bowdown: .

The worst one that the cop actually caught me for was 140 in a 90 zone in my 88 Cougar (these are KM/hr, of course). He wrote the ticket but I beat it in court. The radar trap consisted of a cop sitting on a roadside cliff with a radar and a radio, and a bunch of "chase cars" sitting about 1/4 mile down the road. I saw the cop on the cliff but it was too late. The chase cars waved me over.

I asked the cop handing me the ticket if I could see the radar reading. He told me no because the cop and radar gun were back on the cliff. I told him I didn't believe him and I wanted to see the reading with my own eyes. The cop said "It'd be too dangerous for him to bring the radar gun here". He then handed me a ticket and said "Fight it in court".

I went to court and asked the crown prosecutor (Canadian version of a DA) if it was true that any accused has a right to full disclosure of evidence (meaning that I have a right to review any and all evidence the crown has against me so that I may properly defend myself against it). The crown replied "Yes". I then asked the cop if he showed me the radar reading. He said no and repeated the same "not safe" story to me. The judge then said "If it was that unsafe the officer never should have been there to begin with". He then dismissed the radar evidence and asked the crown if they had any more evidence. They didn't. The judge then said "Case dismissed" and tore a strip off the prosecutor and the cop, telling them they should have known better, and that they had better not ever bring another case like this before him.

A few years later when working on cop cars for a living I met that cop again. He remembered the case and told me he knew he was going to lose as soon as he saw that I had showed up for court. He then told me that out of 150 tickets written at that trap I was the only one to go to court. Everyone else just paid their fines.

Now then, that was the one I actually got caught for.

The worst one I'd ever done and got away with was sailing by a radar trap at an indicated 140 MPH in my old '78 Trans Am (yes, miles per hour - the speedo wasn't metric and was a 160MPH unit). I saw the cop car as I was going by it, and in the rearview mirror I saw the roof lights come on, then go off. He didn't even bother chasing me. Needless to say I got off that highway at my earliest opportunity...

I've been pulled over very few times. Twice for speeding, and the one I got out of was 80 in a 65. The one time I know I should have got caught was when I did 180 in a 35mph zone. I was driving an AWD Turbocharged 91 Eagle Talon. Least to say I dont do that anymore. In my dads Chevelle I dont even go over 50, only because cruizing and doing burnouts are more fun.

Mine's not so bad, the only ticket in 20 yrs of driving was 87 in a 55.
but not my cougar. My 88 E-250.  I got tires that were way to big, and my spedo said i was going 65.--- oops
The cop dropped it down to 72 after i told him i just got the tires and they were the wrong size.

It'll take a lot of convincing to get me to believe an AWD '91 talon would do 180.I'm not buying it (speedo problem maybe?).Sorry.

I got caught doing 116 mph in a 55 on the highway (a stretch about 20 miles long) trying to get home QUICK (obviously). My wife accidentally locked our son in her Pontiac in the middle of ummer and locked the keys in the car.She called me at work in a panic.I had heard horror stories about kids dying in hot cars. She was crazy hysterical on the phone (I had the spare key). What she didn't tell me,was that the car was running and the a/c was on.nyway,I got stopped about half way home doing 116 mph.I am pretty sure I was a little crazy myself as I told the patrolman about the situation. He let me go and said to be careful.I took off and then found my baby boy (about 1 1/2,now 11) sitting in his car seat unaware that there was even a problem. There's my high speed,no pay, story.

180 in a talon? I dont know, maybe a built up one. Even then it seems like gearing would be an issue.

I mean, they WERE the fastest production 4 banger when they came out, but still.
